That makes no sense. Why would they lose sales just because of an update?

Yes, it is worth a thought, and that's why, thinking as a company, "re"-anything is loss of money. Repacking, re-flashing, resupplying... Companies don't do that unless there's safety, loss of revenue or other severe issues involved.

Especially when there's no point in shipping with Oreo already installed. OnePlus gains nothing in doing that. Zero.

A chap on Reddit stated that his order for a OP5 has been put on hold as they are no longer making the phone.

I don't really care if they update op5 to op5t with 18:9 ratio screen (and perhaps some other minor tweaks). As long as op5 still receives the same software updates. The same way OP3 and OP3T get updates simultaneously.

It's really weird that we haven't seen any leaks, other than the OPPO F5. We had a ton of leaks when the OP5 was close to releasing. Maybe OnePlus plugged the leaks this time...

What I really find very disappointing is the lack of news or communication from Oneplus.

A week without stock and nobody says nothing.

PS. Last weekend I tried to buy a OP5 and couldn't. So... I'll have to wait until some official announcement on the OP5T, or whatever.

OnePlus really needs to release there normal and T models together, cause I'd hate to buy this OP 5 and 5 months later something better becomes their priority

No there is not 5T or 6 coming by the end of the year. The next model is going to be released Q2 of 2018.

It seems extremely daft for a company that only has one phone that has only been out a few months to suddenly stop selling it and not let anyone know why. It's very amateurish.

Even Apple is able to sell current models and only goes offline for a couple hours before it releases its new product.

If OP are bringing in a bigger screen it's no doubt going to be another price hike so they could easily continue selling current model as some people might not want to pay more so stick with what is still a not very old model in the OP5

I was in your same situation, but I've waited 2 weeks, then I decided to move on and I bought an Htc u11, I can't trust a company that makes 0 announcements, I think that communication it's an essential factor here.

    And how is the HTC?
I found it a bit expensive. And the lack of 3.5mm jack was important for me.

Just use god damn usb-c headphones or an adapter. Do you see people crying that there is no cd drives in current gen ultrabooks anymore? NO! Move on with technology.

But why I have to get with me another pointless accessory?
Also, I have a quite good in-ear phones, and thus I don't want to buy a bluetooth ones.

Why we must to change a technology which is proven, effective, and does not implies any negative effect on the phone?
