I refer to the same "good, but not best" photo capabilities that @Carl mentioned during keynote... Apart from that 3T is a beast.

Bullshit. First you have to compare prices with competition. 559.- us for the 128/8 GB model. It is up to you to take the cheaper version of the OP5 with 64/6 GB.

Second I am sick of all the complainers here who just want to have everything in one phone but are not willing to pay the price for it.

Are you working for free? Everything has its pricetag. The more you want, the more expensive it gets. Like in real life.

If you find the OP5 so bad, simply buy another brand.

No iphone user is complaining that each generation looks the same and with marginal improvements. No waterproof in the older generations although they were a lot more expensive than the competition.

We live in a free world. Compare the products and choose the one that fits the best for you. But please stop asking always for a free lunch...

because OnePlus doesn't know real VAT tax rates in EU countries... and is afraid that EUR/USD rate will change within 6 months

Most US states have no VAT (sales tax), while most EU countries have 20+%.
    That explains it.

Compare to other phone it's still cheaper. However the gap is closing in and, in my opinion, OP3 still has a better value for money. Even today.

In Europe, this is really a shame.

I absolutely agree with you. I believe Oneplus should launch a secondary device which is more affordable for people who cannot shell out 500 bucks for a phone. This would help introduce a solid brand in second and third world countries where once it impresses people [as always :) ], they may decide to buy the better version. This will be awesome for students(me) and people who don't earn a lot. This is my idea in a nutshell.

Of course it's not worth it, I can pickup a Galaxy S8 off Amazon for the same price of a OnePlus 5.

    OnePlus are taking the piss.

4GB of memory would have been fine, it's only using a 1080p display so the assets stored are small, it's just pointless.

It was hard enough to justify 6GB, but 8GB is just stupid.

Storage options are good but most will never need more than 64GB

Snapdragon 835 is pretty standard for 2017 so nothing special there.

I posted it on the forum and its a joke, he's supposed to be a reviewer not the chief excuse maker, Mr Mobile is just as bad.

Even he has sold out and making more excuses for the 1080P screen and the rest.
There are a lot of Phones out there for under $500 that the OP5's camera won't beat.

See right here again, this is not really OP fault, but at current market price, you have the S8 at a €40 difference. Take €70 if you want an SD card to match up with S5 128 version. And this is where it gets tricky: how to justify paying an OP5 when you can have a Sammy almost at same price.

When I bought the OPO, it was a no brainer: any phone with similar specs were at least more than €100-150 away. At that time (end of June/early July 2014), the S5 was at €550 and some LG were at €450. so the gap was HUGE, without even taking into account the fact that the OPO had 64 gigs.

Today, the difference is so light it makes people reconsider. Hence the noise in this forum. The price tag might actually not be bad per se, but it suffers too much from the price drop of the S8.

Totally agree with you.. They haven't done nothing, but fiddle with the camera and put a new Cpu inside.... The price hike turned me away from buying one. I live in Slovenia and the price is 499€/559€.
I checked on Amazon.it, because Italy is very close to me and i can get a new Galaxy s8 for 570€ or LG G6 for 469€.
OnePlus just lost me there as a customer.

There were sacrifices made in the OnePlus one in order to keep the price cheap. Their goal now is to make one of the best while incorporating many new features. I expected this increase and am ok with it. My Phone is out for delivery now so I'm also really happy with the quick dispatch
