    Hi...

My recently purchased Oneplus 55 Q1 tv has this issue from day 1. You can see a white halo around all 4 edges of the screen and also a abnormally dark patch around the centre of the screen.

This is very much visible when there are dark colours displayed on the screen whereas while playing bright scenes this is not of a big concern but still visible for a keen eye...

Moreover my TV is made in the month of Aug 2019. Is there any problem with the prelaunch TV s which got rectified later in production?

    Regards,

    Satish

My backlight level is 100 as I have a pretty bright living room. And local dimming is ON.

But having the local dimming on cannot cause dark patches at the same location for varied contents right?

Try reducing the backlight and change the contrast settings.

I have done it already. No use.. The dark patches kinda becomes less noticeable but one can say they are there. Especially when there is grey colour being displayed.

Got it checked by Amazon technician and confirmed it had a panel issue. So waiting for my replacement now.

Glad to hear that you're getting a replacement. I also got my q1 during the Amazon prime sale. Same manufacturing date.

Oh.. thats nice... If you dont mind could you post pictures of similar images. May be a picture taken of the inbuilt file manager inside an empty folder would do.

    Thanks in advance..

Ofcourse the bottom portion is the most easily identifiable... Youtube search screen is the best way to check for my concern. Speaking of local dimming, i guess the OnePlus TV has more kind of Vertical section dimming and not full array local dimming. So any isolated spot of dark patched has to be from the panel itself.

I shall verify with my new replacement and post updates.

Thanks a ton! And yeah atleast yours doesnt have streaks of black patches like mine.. but the bottom edge seems to have some light bleeding which is like manageable.

Yes definitely. Its only apparent when I keep the backlight do high. My room is usually dim so I keep it at 50. Hardly see the blooming except for really bright scenes.

By the way do you guys also face 4k HDR videos stuttering issue in YouTube?

Because mine played all those videos seamlessly out of the box but after recieved couple of SW updates and updates for YouTube app itself it started to struggle to play same videos. I couldn't roll back the SW updates but uninstalling youtube updates temperarily solves the problem.

Note: I have fibre broadband installed at home and buffer health for all videos in stats for nerds is always above 20s. So its not my internet connection.

Yes.. It doesn't have full array but vertical strips of LEDs.

Yep... There's been lately a lot of stuttering especially with 5GHz.

What an irony..!. OnePlus says connect to 5GHz for better connectivity but to avoid stutter you are saying the opposite.. lemme try and let you know my observation once I receive my replacement TV.
