unfortunately not yet. After the launch it was an AMA post started by the op team and they answered that always on display is under consideration but still haven't decided yet if they will include this feature or not. I find it very useful too. I wish we will get it.

Like with other tech, I'm sure there's a licensing fee to use the tech otherwise I'd be in the 5T. Compromises have to be made to keep the phone at around $500.

    Hi there!
Is this function coming with Oreo update?
It seems it's present in Oreo, or is it exclusive to Pixels?

I am not in favour of that feature. It will unnecessarily drain the battery.Pick up to wake is good enough I guess.

I had an s7e, and it's ok with the battery life. Sammy did a good job with it, controlling intensity and changing position to not cause any burn ins. Now google is adding this **option** in the Pixels, I thought it was an option included in Oreo, not a just pixel thing.

Then it should be an optional feature. But I have heard Pixels are having major battery drains with always on display. Don't know about Samsung though.

On my Galaxy S8 it didn't have a significant impact on battery life. But then again the battery life was bad anyway on that phone. I tried an app and even payed for it but that one had a huge battery drain so it was a no go.

I am starting to think they are afraid of all the useless threads opened about some users having a 3 minute less SOT due to this and people DEMANDING OnePlus to fix it ASAP.

i prefer the moto notification system instead of always on... extremely sensative and gives us more info once u put a finger on the icon.

If u mean clock like s8 when you lock your phone.. I have similar but much better.. Just do this

    Go to display
    Trun [on] Lift up display
    Then go to SCREEN SAVER
    Trun [on]
And choose clock and change style the clock to digital

Battery drain is minimal if at all noticeable on my Note 8. Having said that, i prefer pick up to wake.
