  1. ArtistShaan Froyo May 22, 2018

    ArtistShaan, May 22, 2018 :
There used to be double tap on home button and launch specific operations like opening Camera App.
But this function is no where i can find in oneplus 6.
Is there any possible way of shortcut to access camera app, apart from taping on the app icon.?? Please help..

I know it was that for the five, but I think I saw Linus demonstrate a double tap on the power button in his preview video! That's why I was wondering, I'd test it myself but I'll have to wait a couple days before min arrives ;)

I am sure that you are right but double press on power button or double tap on fingerpring (which is now on back side), are not operating anything extra apart fro. Their usual programmed tasks. I have also checked the buttons section in settings app but i am afraid i have'nt found any thing..

Sadly yes, but we will hope for the best!! Who knows OnePlus might come up with any S/W upgrades.

So strange, because you can see Linus do it! - skip to 6:00!

Are you on the latest update? Maybe it got removed/added with the latest software update - in which case there's hope :p

This. Double tap to open camera seems to be on the powerbutton only.

go to gestures and you long press on finger print sensor for camera. or if you go to buttons you can set on power button.

On the 5 to open camera you can double tap on FP, double tap on Virtual button or double push on the power button.
On the 5T you can open it with DT virtual button, but if you use gesture mode the only way is to double push power button .

On the 6 it's the same as 5T, you can choose to double tap on any of the 3 virtual button to open what you want. But if you use gesture their is no other way to be faster than the double push on the power button, but they keep the long press on the FP to take a picture.

EDIT: Download Fingerprint Quick Action https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ztc1997.fingerprint2sleep&hl=fr it works for me, i've set up to open the notification center when single tap, but i tried with double tap too for the camera and guess what! It works too!
IDKW this app doesn't work on my 5T but it works on the 6 so good news!

The double tap on the power button does open the camera app on my OP6 by default.
You can also set-up a specific gesture to open it :)
