Even with Nightscape it's still a camera that needs time to collect light...
They said it will take two seconds to shoot the photo...
Gotta hold still or use a tripod...

Also Google's night vision need several seconds and the results are blurry shot by hand...

not true at all. pixel3 results are literally impressive. just Google it, there's plenty of live video shooting sessions.

    that's what I did ...
Yes they are impressive probably better...
But all the reviews I saw recommend to hold the camera extremely still because it take several seconds... so it don't end up blurry..

It's more or less several Exposures blended just like the OnePlus mode...

not saying that you ain't right for the time exposure. I'm saying that with SIMILAR exposure times pixel3 makes OP6 night mode just ridiculous.

it's day and night. you can't just compare. there no game.

I understand that you are an "OP6 SUPPORTER NO MATTER WHAT", but this ain't about you or me. this is about a fair comparison that puts shame on OP6 claiming "BIG IMPROVEMENTS" in stead of replying to a crowd of people complaining.

this is just joking with us.

ps: I apologize with everyone here for this OT.

    I'm just an photography supporter...
All I see here is blurry pics mostly caused by the user...
Btw... It's 133 voting to have this problem..
Out of how many who bought the phone...?

Every camera works differently and one has to adapt... Different software, sensor , lenses, etc..

I don't get why to even expect Pixel level performance...?
You see the pictures posted in the monthly thread and what's possible...

Actually I think I'm just disappointed...
This thread was interesting at the beginning with real (maybe not so accurate) research...
And it's still short of a real proof...

Now it's just the mega thread for camera bashing... 8(

Since I updated to 9.0.2 on my OnePlus 6. Every photo I take with the normal or the telephoto cam is blurry. It doesn't matter if I use the stock photo app or a thrid party app. The front camera works perfectly fine.

Edit: The custom kernel I used was the problem. Without it's fine again.

Even with 9.0.2 there is no fix or acknowledgement to this camera issue.

    UPDATE:
Arnova just released the latest stable version of Gcam. It isn't the final version, as there are some features missing, but most bugs have been fixed.

The punchline is though the quality is fantastic!
    Much better than Oneplus camera.
The Night mode - holy crap!
If you scroll down in the thread, there are many user examples of comparison between Gcam and OP cameras.
You have to see them for yourself.

not sure what is on but an army of cupcakes and other "normal" users are out in the community promoting the gcam..more so after the night mode stable version..hope its not the same community which the CEO follows that gave him the feedback to remove the headphone socket

I am having issues with slow motion pictures and pictures in low light.
The slow motion videos shot in 1080 or 720 doesn't look like 1080 or 720 at all. Too much of noise and blur.

Please let me know if there is any setting to correct the same.

that's a bit disappointing, what if someone wants to shoot bonefire in night or anyother activity in person low light?? There has to be option of flash during slow motion video recording.

using tripods, spending a whole day trying to get a few pictures after trial and error is one thing, get good pictures in day to day life and social settings where you can't make subjects sit in one place like you examples is something else...

I've have seen photos in Photography forum, and most of them are landscape photos. In my opinion, the camera is working great if I shoot landscape photos, but if I shoot close up shot such as a document, It's will be like this topic.

As others have said, the issue is less noticeable in landscape images. It shows up mostly in close ups, where focus should be uniform but is instead blurry in all but the very center of image. If I had to guess, the wide-angle lens means objects that are close are being distorted and the software isn't correcting for this. There should be uniform focus on a flat object but instead only the center is in focus and the edges are blurry because of radial distortion in the lens. Someone who understands optics better help me out please. OnePlus please fix or explain this issue -- we're not imagining it.
