you can't request anything here. this is only a user's forums. go to the feedback section of the website and submit the a bug. that the only way to reach the developers directly.

    I am using GCAM MGC_6.1.021_BSG_Arnova-Based_v.1.3d+_TlnNeun

    1)After installing it go
Settings>Advanced>FixViewfinder Format change it to JPEG

    2)Change Base Libs to google

3)Highlight Saturation-1.4 for both front and back camera(I don't like washedout colors so I increased saturation and this setting represents true color in photos)

    Marian settings

    How to apply these settings

I think its similar issue on OP devices with camera even on OXYGEN OS 9.0.3. Similar issue with Front camera also.

i am tired of complayng the camera optics. OP6 has a great camera hardware no doubt there. problem is in software part i mean the camera app itself is poor and inconsistent. so i stopped expectng anythng good from OP6 camera.
i have a suggestion though, when u can borrow display, camera sensors, processors etc from different manufacturers, then y not borrow the camera app itself. y not OP borrow camera app from google itself. the contrast, dynamic range, sharpness, portrait mode is simply excellent in google ported camera app.
please OP make my wish come true, stop those worthless camera improvements and focus on delievering the best. we are ready to pay 5k more for those excellent google camera app. ported google camera is very inconsistent. that is y i am begging for official google camera support.

I think all hope is lost. It seems OnePlus won't be fixing the issue, and they're starting to censor posts related to this issue. Below is a my screenshot of my response to one of the mods when they moved my complain about the camera issue from one thread into another thread. You can read my actual response here: https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/picture-quality.610396/page-7#post-19996376 and the original complained post here: https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/picture-quality.610396/page-6#post-19996172

Since OP has been quite on this issue and have not pushed any bug fixes, I am starting to question if the blurry picture issue is related to hardware and optics of the OnePlus 6 and 6T camera. Below is one theory of how hardware can be causing an issue...

Ever wonder why Apple choose to use a 12MP camera in iPhone X, XR, XS, Google chose to have a 12.2MP in Pixel 3, while OnePlus 6 uses 16MP camera??? Check out the two images below which I sourced from an amazing article on depth of field and depth of focus by Edmund Optics. It seems contrast in an image (thus also blurriness) can suffer as number of pixels in a sensor increase, or if f/# decreases when there is a tilt in the sensor relative to the optical lens.

Getting rid of my One plus 6 soon and will suggest everyone in my surrounding not to buy one.Its seems either its a hardware issue or oneplus camera developers don't have clue. This is the exact same reason I keep suggesting oneplus on investing more on quality components rather than Ads and promotion.

Google isn't giving licence for Gcam to any 3rd party manufacturer. Otherwise it could have been much better camera.

The artificial sharpness just bugs me everytime. There is very High ISO in photos even which are taken in good light. If there is any drop in light, the ISO becomes very high over 1000 and makes noise. There is also no option to go below 100 ISO at least there should be option for 50, its not in both auto and pro mode. Other phones or Gcam keeps ISO low and gives much cleaner image.

Idk why NightScape is there in Camera app, it's just a crap.

But the fanboys will not believe it, they'll just you don't know how to take pictures of and buy a other phone, i know already what you gonna say We spent this money to get something out of it and who are you? If anyone has problem then he can tell it here that's the reason of community. It just feels like Apple community now.

My camera is actually excellent. I was recently buying pants, so I sent an MMS to gf. She sent me another one from her Galaxy S9. My color reproduction was spot on. Hers was... well, there must have been a lighting issue.
In any case, when buying pants, this phone camera is great. I am also using 5.1.11 OOS version. Stop using camera for any other reason but buying pants.

In oreo camera was good.Oxygen OS 5.1.7 had best camera but in Pie default camera app no more capture good quality photos so I have permanently switched to GCAM.

I have all the same issues, from original post. Grainy photos, when the camera indicates focus on face its actually focusing on the background. I can see this on the screen and tapping on different parts of the screen and back on face does not change the focus away from the background. I had that issue with my op3 got the op6s and returned it bc the portrait mode was horrible. And magically my op3 hardware dierld the day I posted a review of the op6s. So I got the op6 and it was perfect. Then after the update before the most recent one (today is 6/14/2019) the camera stopped working as it should.
I'm not buying another op device. I was a HUGE FAN telling everyone about this phone prior to my op3 camera issues. After that I have had nothing but dissapointing experiences. Its really sad I was rooting for them. I hate to say it but I'm going to have to go to an iphone or pixel for my next phone.

Download this and install it as normal APK use it and never look back. Oneplus is not capable or they will simply not fix camera because OP7/OP7 pro is released
