I have the Google camera but in an old version. It has a couple of bugs and I never got round to install the Marian settings, etc. Is there a really good stable version I can install? Is it this one on the link?

to sum things up quickly between the cameras of the OnePlus and Pixels, it's the software rendering! To put it simply, the software engineers at OnePlus simply aren't able to maximize the hardware in the OnePlus phone's.

So, how do you solve this problem? download the Gcam app? why are folks not using it? You don't have to get crazy with xml files, simply download the stable Gcam apk file and don't do anything. You'll have Pixel software rendering with your OnePlus. Seriously, it's a blessing to have this option as Android users that we're able to download apk files. The Gcam for OnePlus is the Pixel cam, use it folks!

seems good! did a few quick tests and I'm perfectly happy.
The colours are a bit saturated, but that's a compromise I'll easily make. Focus seems good and that is top priority for me. Thanks again mate.

No one ever will take a look at this thread bro, we are just wasting our time complaining. Let's learn to live with it or just change our phones and move on from OP

I know that, in the past, OP team was looking at these posts, as I was contacted to fill out an issues log. Now they're probably focused on OP7. I've concluded that they haven't improved the camera, not because they didn't want to (that would be a stupid commercial decision), but because their software has limitations that they cannot seem to fix. Hardware, although not perfect, is certainly cable of much more than the software allows.
They wouldn't simply be able to adapt a gcam port and make it official as they do not own the code. Luckily we have the great devs at XDA that have done what OP cannot.
The camera puts a bit of a stain on what is, for everything else, a beast of a phone.
On a side note, another thing that is not quite top notch is the antenna. I have a colleague of mine with a galaxy s9 using the same operator, and on bad reception areas where he get 1 or 2 dashes and is able to make calls, I get 0 and cannot call anyone...
