Yes they do. We know this because absolutely everyone was skeptical of Face ID when it was announced.

Its convenient. For additional security, we have the app locker for sensitive apps and the file vault for sensitive files. These both use the FP scanner, with no face unlock option.

I'm amazed. Is it my imagination, or are the same people complaining about the security of face unlock the same people that are asking for face unlock option for the app locker??

[e]1f603[/e]great video! We can see it unlock in the reflection!

Is it a 4K TV? I wonder if resolution or DPI plays a role?

What type of picture are you using to fool it?

Yes it is 4k tv and that's why I had someone else record this time to capture reflection

Hmm this is interesting. I read below that yours is 4K. I just tested the same with my 6 on my 1080p TV and was not able to recreate the results but there is absolutely no way that your video is in any way fake. Thank you for making this even though people are always going to find reasons as to why this worked. Just let the disbelievers be disbelievers.;)

Can you check if all smart lock options are disabled? Just wanted to confirm because the same thing happened to other people, but they found out it was because smart lock was enabled.

Only smart setting that is on is OK Google and obviously I didn't say that or anything close to it either of the 5 times in the 2 videos.

Yeah, like I said, you can see exactly when it unlocks in the reflection. I'm thinking it may have to do with the size of your face on the screen, since the camera knows how close the image is, it can judge the size. Your actual face seems to be really close in size to the image on the TV

This does seem likely. My 1080p didn't have as large as face on me, but then again I decided to just ditch face unlock for fingerprint.

Even Apple knows that face unlock isn't as secure. Even though they say it is.

Of course it's an issue for OP when most tech etc blogs are picking up on this issue, it's put me off getting an OP6 when I don't have the same issue with my OP3, as why pay £500+ for a new handset which has inferior security to my own 2 year old handset.

i printed a grey photo of myself, placed it on my face and tried to test if the OP6 unlocked by the photo, however, it did not unlock.

so i keep using face unlock function.

I wasn't able to replicate this on my 4k tv, with different brightness levels. I took a picture of my face immediately after adding it to face unlock. I guess it's a matter of properly adding your face in good lighting conditions, doing that decreases the failure rate.

I've never seen anybody upload a video to YouTube where the phone has been opened with just a photo, not a genuine one anyway, if there are vidoes then perhaps you could direct me to them?
