Network/Connectivity OnePlus 6 Mobile network not working but network bars are there

?

Cellular Network issues that were there on OnePlus 6 has it improved with the new 5.1.16 update?

    Hi,

    Is anyine else having this problem?

    I'm using Airtel Sim on my OnePlus 6, suddenly the mobile network stops working but the status bar still shows signal.

    Only after toggling airplane mode or restarting the mobile does it work again.

    This is happening very frequently, after every few mins this problem is happening and is indeed frustrating.

    I was using the OnePlus one earlier with this sim and no problems at all.

    Pls advise.

    it seems to be a problem with the operator at your location.
    please do the following :
    under settings -> sim & network -> preferred network type, change it to 2G/3G (recommended).
    This will help you. After 3 - 4 days, switch back to 4g settings.

    Same problem here. Have already tested an new SIM card from my carrier (Congstar), did not help. Tried setting APN configurations manually, did not help. Changed the SIM slot, did not help.

    Strangely, my SIM card from another carrier (Telekom) works without a problem

    Thanks for the info, I could find quite a few people having the same problem on this forum, I'm wondering if this is a OnePlus six specific problem.

    Because the sims works more than fine on my OnePlus one.

    You have also changed sim with the problematic operator right??

    The other SIM from a different carrier (Telekom) works fine.

    I've also already exchanged the problematic SIM (carrier: Congstar) with a replacement one, but this has the same problem.

    I also tried both SIM slots, but the problematic one has the problem in every slot.
    And the working one is working also in both slots.

    I hope you are right. This problem is extremely annoying and makes the OP6 nearly unuseable for me.

    yes I do face same problem ..That too very frequently ..only after turning on and off airplane mode network resumes back..Not sure if this issue is due to network operator or phone ..

    To update all here, have just contacted the oneplus customer care team and they have acknowledged that the problem is widespread and have given a few troubleshooting steps.


    Step 1:
    Go to Settings
    Backup & Reset
    Network Settings Reset

    Step 2
    Go to Settings
    Apps
    Application List
    Settings
    Storage
    Clear Data & also Clear Cache


    Step 3: (Below Email got from oneplus)

    As per the telephonic conversation, I am sending an email with the trouble shooting steps for the concerned query. Please follow the below trouble shooting steps :

    Wipe Cache Partition

    Step 1: Power OFF your OnePlus device.

    Step 2: Press and hold Volume down and power key simultaneously until the device vibrates in Recovery menu

    Step 3: Select your preferred language as English

    Step 4: Select Wipe data and cache

    Step 5: Now select Wipe cache

    Step 6: Select Yes to continue the process

    Step 7: Select Reboot

    Yes, I also tried setting up the APN settings manually. Did not change anything, problem persists.
