Guys, I'm currently using Oneplus 5.
I'm planning to upgrade to a newer device.
Help me decide which phone should I be buying?
Oneplus 6 or Huawei p20 pro?
    My priorities are:
    1. Camera (Especially Portrait Mode)
    2. Performance
    3. Battery

    Please guide me!
Don't take me wrong, I'm a Oneolus fan too.

    Hello,

If you are keen on camera, there is no real need for second thought p20 pro leads it significantly.
Performance of both phones are almost in the same circle.
Battery seems a bit better in one plus 6.

    Cheers.

In terms of performance... the oneplus 6 chipset is a generation newer.. and it will serve you much better in the future in addition the adreno 630 in the oneplus 6 is way more powerful than the mali found in the Huawei.. so yea if you're a heavy user I recommend the oneplus 6
Battery is about the same you won't be disappointed with either of them out of the box, but on the long run Huawei batteries are known for degrading and losing capacity quickly.
In terms of the camera both of them perform really great in good lightning conditions and you won't notice any difference, in low light though... the P20 manages to capture with slightly lower noise levels than the oneplus 6.... but the oneplus handles the highlights better...
Both of them take good portrait shots with great edge detection but images turn out really different... the p20 has less details on people's faces, it's warmer overall, and the oneplus handles skin tones better... you can checkout camera shootouts and see which one do you prefer...
I tried both smartphones and decided to stick with the oneplus 6 because of many reasons but mainly cuz I prefer near stock android...
so it all comes down to personal preference at the end

Howdy, P20pro is twice expensive. My wife is after buying herself OP6 silk White and I am OP5JCC have to say that camera in latest device is very good. However since oil effect was reduced I have no complaints to my OP5 neither. But the screen and design of OP6 is top notch. Overall experience isn't noticeable with a naked eye. OP5 is still super fast.

    p20 pro

    +
    better camera
    larger battery

    -
    more expensive
slower chip (most likely won't be felt in day to day usage)
    less ram

    oneplus

    +
    better screen
    faster
    more ram
    cheaper

If you prioritize camera then the p20 is the way to go, hands down. Also the battery life is better. I can't really see any more advantages of the p20. My two cents

portrait mode is bad.front cam portrait is horrible.
    camera app will hang sometimes.
    slo-mo is just about average.
under proper lights outdoors pictures will be punchy and colourful.
battery - horrible after the update.abt 2 hrs less sot after the last update.
performance - under utilised SD845 chip with poor software implementation.call drops still happening, screwed up contacts display, don't fall for the speed up need slogan.
stay away from both phones and buy a better one.

Camera Is Better On P20 Pro
Performance Is Pretty Much The Same
Battery seems better on Op6 and it has dash charge
OnePlus 6 Costs less though than the P20 Pro ,And you are a OnePlus fan

If I were you I would get OnePlus 6

Although you don't really need to upgrade it's kind ND of a waste of money since op5 is a very good phone too and is still up to date.If you have the money you can upgrade, not upgrading was just my opinion.

    1. Camera

    - Huawei P20 Pro does better in low light shots, detail of pictures.
    - OnePlus 6 is only average at camera, some shots' colours are too fake
    Winner: Huawei P20 Pro

    2. Battery Life.

    - Huawei P20 Pro has a better battery life in various YouTube comparison tests. (A huge 4000mAh battery is built-in)
    - OnePlus 6 only has average battery life (3300mAh battery built-in)
    Winner: Huawei P20 Pro

    3. Performance

    - Huawei P20 Pro has a Kirin 970 chipset. Not the best performance.
    - OnePlus 6 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with 6GB/8GB storage. One of the fastest phones in the Android world.
    Winner: OnePlus 6

    Total Points:
    Huawei P20 Pro - 2
    OnePlus 6 - 1

If these are your only areas of usage, I will suggest that you buy Huawei P20 Pro.

p20 pro is way more better than oneplus 6 in every aspect, some people will say oneplus has speed but you wont do speed test with other phone, right? so day yo day use you wont feel any difference, battery sucks in oneplus 6.

    so go for p20 pro.

p.s. i didnt mention anything about camera because you just simply cant compare p20 pro camera with oneplus 6. p20 pro camera is league ahead

I suggest you can take lead on OnePlus 6 coz of good UI not a crappy EMUI and Oneplus will ALWAYS for customer support Honor [e]1f44e[/e] and OTA updates Oneplus is good at providing updates, ATLAST go with Oneplus or else use Nokia 1100[e]1f602[/e]
