just wondering if the fact that OnePlus didn't use any heat sinks or thermal paste in the op6 ..is it going to affect long term usage?

The fanboy answer is "No, OP6 is perfect".

The hater answer is "Yes, for sure".

The only answer that makes sense to me is "we don't know yet" plus the usage plays a role on this (CPU/GPU temp etc) .

thank you for the reply I was curious just cause I use my phone for everything it's my TV my PC and gaming console lol I'm worried about the longevity of this device. I got it with the mindset of keeping it for a couple years.

In that case you should be worried about other factors such as battery longevity and/or burn in rather than small things like thermal paste

without thermal paste over heating can be an issue which damages the battery along with the phone becoming slow and laggy over time

SoCs like these will thermally throttle themselves before any damage occurs. You'll be fine.

I got my OP6 at launch and have had zero issues with slowdown. And I'm a pretty heavy user

Constant daily usage. Whether it's videos, podcasts, games, or just went browsing. Not to mention I do a good amount of work from my phone.
