Yes, but how many of these are really "no fault of your own" - the original guy on Reddit admitted his daughter dropped it several times, another I've read eventually said they'd sat on it in their jeans pocket, and the one with the photos here looks like its gone for a slide along the ground. I'm all for battering companies for inherent issues, but I've seen nothing to convince me here so far.

It's like with Sony devices of the Z series, where glass breaking over night was quite often reportet.

The glass is under tension, so there's always the chance of sudden breaking. On any device. All the manufacturers, like OnePlus, did their best to design the phone in a way that the glass doesn't break. And for most of the people, it won't break. Let's say that are 95% of all customers. 4,97% got their glass breaking due to their own fault and pretend it happened suddenly without any doing of them. Just in hope of a free repair or warranty issue to get their money back and buy a ASUS Zenphone 5Z.
0,03% of those with broken glass are really suffering under a sudden break. These very few people had bad luck and will get their repair. It's very easy to see and investigate if the glass breaks due to the fact that it can actually happen, and / or if there was any kind of external influences. Believe me, it's easy if you can 'read' the cracks.

With still so few people with broken glass, no company in the world has to believe that it's a common problem.
Every product ever made, is slightly different. Some are very durable, some are not. As long as the absolute majority is ok, there's no problem.

Every phone with cracked glass will be examinated very very carefully by OnePlus. They replace faulty devices if it really happens due to the factoring process, and reject those which are obviously destroyed by any kind of force due to wrong usage of the customer. No matter if an excident or intended.

That's the whole story. No need to paint the devil on the wall.

    It's like the amazon scam.

People claim to have rock instead of their phone, so they get one more free phone!

And like these they may have crack it by their own mistake only. And Asking OnePlus for the replacement.

Though, Many Old users who are frequently supporting this community may have bought the OnePlus 6. And why don't they face the same issue like others?

Why it happens to new users only?

I remember the first day I got my Nexus 4 with its lovely glass back. Case was arriving the next day so took it out naked. Placed it against some cold metal, the whole back started cracking before my eyes.

Didn't really care too much to be honest, it lived in a case for the rest of its life. Try and enjoy the phone and cherish every bump and scratch.
