    Hi,

    I'm getting myself a oneplus6 with hydrogen OS, but i intend to flash is to oxygen os.
    Can someone explain what is "Signed flashable zips" and "OTA incremental update zips"??

    Also, what does the stock recovery image do OR what is it use for?

    So basically, if i wanna flash it to oxygen OS, which one do i download? or do i have to download multiple images?

    kaihp, May 23, 2018 :
    The "signed flashable zips" are full images, ca 1.7GB in size. The incremental zips will bring you from version X to X+1 and are much smaller in size (e.g. 20-60MB).

    The Recovery image is a small self-contained program which allows you to flash/upgrade the OS itself. You can't upgrade the OS while the OS is running ;)

    Read the post by @Funk Wizard in the "Oneplus 6 3rd party Development" section:
    OnePlus 6: Unlock Bootloader | Flash TWRP | Root | Nandroid & EFS backup.

    @codemsi

    Get the latest full signed zip (5.1.5 ATM) and flash from recovery or do a local upgrade.

    Actually you can, as OnePlus 6 supports seamless update due to A/B partitioning.

    @SomeSayImHandS0me

    Obviously.

    @Spannaa

    Thanks for your contributions, as always.

    @ Others

    I've decided to remove the stock recovery section as /recovery is now fused with /boot due to A/B partitioning. You need to reflash stock boot.img (in both slots) to get stock recovery back.

    I have tried to replace the 5.1.5 boot.img with a patched one, but now i can't install OTA, there is no ADB or flashing option in the recovery. Any help?

    So with the OP6, we will have to flash a custom TWRP recovery to both boot_a and boot_b partitions? (when it arrives, that is)

    So basically in order to get my new phone working as it should, i shld flash my OP6 with the 5.1.5 signed flashable zip only?

    Do i have to download and place the recovery image?

    Does anyone have Oxygen OS 5.1.0 for OP6? I'm happy just with boot.img and system.img thanks

    kaihp, May 24, 2018 :
    You are correct. You can either download and flash the full OS, the v5.1.5 signed flashable ZIP, or flashing the OTA update that updates you from your current version (5.1.0 or 5.1.3) to 5.1.5.

    Unless you want to replace the original boot/recovery with a custom one (TWRP), there is no need to update it.

    As a consequence, a new section for stock boot (& recovery) images is added.

    Thanks for the info. When I try to flash the 5.1.5 ZIP (fastboot update xxx.zip) it tells me:

    archive does not contain 'android-info.txt'
    archive does not contain 'android-product.txt'
    error: update package has no android-info.txt or android-product.txt

    Any idea what that means?

    This image NOT for fastboot. Go to the system update menu and apply it there.
