OnePlus 6t camera not impressive

First I was very happy with OnePlus Camera, but recently I've noticed that selfies come very dull in indoors specially, outdoors in good lighting conditions the pics come out better, Oppo F9 pro gives better result in indoors, even if the lights are dull, may be its after Jan Security Patch update ONEPLUS A6010_41_190123, or it was like that only since the begining I'm not sure, ive just noticed it recently

I agree, actually I have clicked few more pictures with same angle on same day, time, light conditions, but these pictures are of my family and friends, I don't thing they would like me to share them,

last 2 pictures are clicked on same day and angle, u cane see the difference, it bothers me that being such a good phone and camera Oneplus 6t click such dull picture (not all the time but most of the time)

p.s ill check the app link and shared here, take few pictures and share them to compare with Oppo f9 plus again

    thanks

    yes.
the oppo pics are better than OnePlus.
OnePlus phone no more value for money considering the price they are asking for now.
how are the rear camera pics as compared to the oppo.

actually for rear also its the same story, as i said in my earlier reply, I've clicked pics of my family and friends, the results were same, in some lighting conditions, when we were in a restaurant for dinner, Oppo f9 pro clicked better pictures actually it grabbed more light than 6t, 6t was clicking dull pictures, as if it had a wet kite paper kind of layer on the pictures, f9 pro's pictures were impressive, even my alder brother has OP5t and OP6t he was also shocked with f9 pro's results

I'm in love with OnePlus 6t ive liked it OnePlus since OP3, but with pictures im little disappointed (again not all the time, but sometimes)

First and last picture set are better by Oneplus. Oppo s colours are oversaturated, and the lights in the dark background (set 1) by OPPO are totally blurred.
pictureset two:Oppo oversaturated, Oneplus a bit too less saturated. A good phone camera should make natural pictures and not LSD Trip pictures.

agreed oppo pictures are saturated a bit more, but u cant deny the fact that OnePlus pictures are coming dull as compared to reality, the last pic is take at a very lush green place, i can assure u that it doesn't look like either as green as oppo or as dull as OnePlus, its in the middle of both of them

So, if the last two pictures were taken at the same time.
Why does the OPPO image in the background have a gray sky and the OnePlus image sunset?
That's why both are so different...[e]1f609[/e]

here, checkout the timestamps!. any doubt now??
both were on same setting, its not like i kept oppo on vivid and beauty mode n kept oneplus on normal standard mode, I don't have anything against Oneplus or oppo isn't paying me for this[e]1f61c[/e][e]1f602[/e][e]1f601[/e]

no last stable version, OxygenOS Version 9.0.12

i have noticed with my elder brother's 6t, there is slight difference in picture colour, i might be because of angle of light, even if i take pictures keeping them side by side, i think light light would come from slightly different angle, its not a major difference, may be 5-6%

Maybe you should try the open beta, there are some differences in post processing.

I would still choose OnePlus for the following reasons-

    1. It's better to have a less saturated image than oversaturated because you can do this in post.

    2. HDR is much better on OnePlus, you can't compare with Oppo. Just take a photo of something in which some part of photo is bright and some are dark then you'll find HDR capability.

    3. Dynamic range is also better on OnePlus. You can see sky has grey color in Oppo which should not be in the evening and OnePlus captured it properly. And also see the bushes behind you, OnePlus has more detail in shadows.

But one thing, I don't like about OnePlus is field of view, it's very less compared to any other. I'm not a fanboy but I prefer OnePlus. Try Gcam if it works for you because it has high contrast like Oppo.

I'm always trying to understand why people from this one specific country posts photos of themselves... EVERY TIME!!! You blame camera and it's just always has to be you. STOP IT!

So what should they do? Click an picture of white? If someone has problem with Selfie camera then he will obviously post picture of himself. He can't take selfie of an object.

but he does not have a problem of how A PERSON Looks like but the contrast, saturation and so on. He could just post a picture of ANYTHING AROUND! BUT NO, it has to be him! ON ALL PHOTOS, COME-ON!
