So far, seems only the OP8 series phones support the wifi 6 standard.

Yes, the OP6/6T does support support 5 GHz wifi, but the op's question was about the newer 5.8 GHz (wifi 6) standard.

Wi-Fi 6 only uses 5GHz (which is actually using the 5.7GHz - 5.8 GHz bands).

Wi-Fi 6E is the new (still not approved) standard that operates in the 6 GHz band from 5.925 to 7.125 GHz.

So, in short, yes, the 6T does use the 5GHz (5.8GHz) band.

The OnePlus 6T does not support Wi-Fi 6E, which was only introduced in 2020 and isn't yet supported by any Qualcomm SoCs.

Ok, so you are saying that even if only the OP8 series phones have the stated wifi 6 (5.8 GHz) support in the specs, that other models (including the OP6T), also have wifi 6 support?

    No.

    5GHz is used on Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and Wi-Fi (802.11n) as well. For reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels

5.8 GHz (or 5GHz as it is commonly known) is not specific to Wi-Fi 6.
