so? that's beauty of market economy. I don't want to pay for bells and whistles just importance like speed and updates. that's why I got 6t over Samsung.

agree.. that's why I pay $579, for 8GB ram, while I wish they included 1440p display, upside is longer battery life. gotta make a compromise somewhere!

I just hope the price is not going up again. I bought my op3 for 400 the 6t is already 560.
I know it is still cheaper than other flagships.

    The1Lion, Jan 6, 2019 :
6T starts at $549, but also with 6GB/128GB setup so I'd think the seven would be about 575-600 starting and close to $700 for top model depending on what they add.

    Cheng Zhang, Jan 10, 2019 :
    I DON'T need:

    1. 2k display. I do think 2k looks better than 1080p, but really it is very hard to notice the difference on 6 inch phone. I think longer battery life and cheaper price is better than 2k display.

    2. Better selify camera. Unlike oppo and vivo, oneplus do not attract fashion or beauty group. Oneplus are mainly for student, tech enthusiasts and android fans, and most of these people don't care about selifies

    3. Wireless charging. Let's face it, wireless charging is not consumer ready at all. There is no good enough fast charging and you need to carefully placing it on a charging pad, and you cannot hold your phone to watch video while charging. There is really no need to jump on that train yet.

    I DO need:

    1. Super vooc charging: while warp charging is fast, I cannot get to full charge during my morning routines. Therefore a faster charger is always better.

    2. Better rare camera: although oneplus 6/6t has a better camera than oneplus 5, it still falls behind high end phone, even falls behind midrange phone from Nokia. I think we gonna need 1.4um, and ƒ/1.8 and ƒ/2.4 dual aperture.

    3. Figure out a way to show led notification. I am thinking like the Skyline Notification on oppo find 7. When there is notification we can gentally light up the bottom edge of the display and keep it lighted.
The lack of nofication light is the only reason I am not buying a oneplus 6t and brought a oneplus 6 (for exactly the same price as the 6t)

    4. Real in screen fingerprint sensor. Current fingerprint sensor is basically a flashlight in the dark. Please make a usable one, if there is no way to make it more usable, I don't see a problem with traditional fingerprint sensor. They are much faster and much reliable and burn your eyes in dark.

What I don't care but it is nice to have:

    1. Always on display. I think current ambient display is good enough, but seems like many people really like it, and it doesn't cost too much battery.

    2. Longer battery life. I have never have complain about oneplus' battery life, but it is always nice to have more.

    3. Real facial recognition. This might be too much to ask, but I think if you want to make a facial recognition, then make a secure one. If the screen lock is insecure then there is no point in having a screen lock.

    4. Stereo speaker. While stereo speaker may sound a tiny bit better, you still needs to keep your hand away from the bottom firing speaker. Therefore I don't know whether it is truly worth it.

I think the flagship market has gone off track. It is nice to have all the animoji, 3d photo, 10+ camera and curved camera shit. But at the end of the day, you just need a phone that fulfills your need; a phone that is fast, durable, takes good photos, and last you all day.
People say that there is not much phone innovation any more, but as I see it, there is not many companies that are making phones that are simple and usable.
That is exactly why I like oneplus. It does what I expect it to do.

I hope that oneplus can continue to make phones that works.
