It has been less than 2 months and the glass back on my OnePlus 7 has broken. Since day one I have used the protective case provided by OnePlus and I confirm that my phone was never mis-handled or dropped. And I saw several similar posts where users are posting breaks near the Volume buttons of OnePlus 7 or 7Pro.

Does OnePlus takes the ownership of this fault in the product and is replacing the faulty back glass or Phone??

I can also confirm the rear of my phone has cracked, it was always in the Oneplus supplied case and has never been dropped or bashed. It started off as a single crack but has then got worse. I put it down to carrying the phone in my front jeans pocket, but it's pretty crap if the phone cannot stand this which I consider normal use as I've never had a phone in anything but pristine condition when I've finished with it.

It doesn't break "on its own".
Those are clearly stress fractures... from bending.
The back is glass. Glass does not bend. Glass breaks.

If you want it fixed, be prepared to pay for it, and then don't carry the phone in a pocket where it'll get bent, regardless of being in a case.

If regular use of phone means a broken back(glass) then I must say I have wasted my money in OnePlus7. Glass back is required for Wireless Charging and this feature is not available in OP7 then why providing Glass back which breaks with normal use...!! And if they want to provide Glass then then they must use Gorilla Glass which does not breaks with normal use.

I am agreed. It breaks on its own. Even my phone has the same issue. in the morning it was ok but in the night when I checked it I found its back glass broken. the breaking man is same as your phone. I doubt the poor quality of OnePlus.

I am really upset with such kind of quality from OnePlus. I hope one plus will look into this and get customer satisfied.
happy customer is all today required. I have attached the screenshot of the breaking mark.

Same here. The glass cracked in my pocket, I don't know how(with stock silicone case)... Glass replaced in OnePlus service center. I not buy a phone with a glass cover again, if I have a choice.

now this is too much. I I am afraid how oneplus will keep its quality in such a case. Also the repair service of oneplus isn't so well in India.

I've carried phones in my jeans pocket since they were finally small enough to fit there, having my first mobile in 1993 when they were large. I've no idea how many this will be but each could have been passed on as brand new (after fluff etc. had been cleaned) so my usage has nothing to do with this breakage, the phone rear cover is obviously not fit for purpose. I personally never said my phone cracked by itself, I acknowledge it was likely due to being in my pocket (bending/stress) but it's absolutely pathetic for a phone to crack this way in normal use. I expect you'll see more posts as time goes by, even now have a quick internet search, there are many instances out there. I guess if yours is still ok (and wish you all the luck it stays so) then you'd have no need to investigate.

I checked online too and yes it says that rear glass is corning gorilla glass 5. But tell me one thing, that due to stress on phone rear back is breaking, why not the front glass?? Just because front has Corning Gorilla Glass 6??

if I am not wrong Corning Gorilla Glasses are claimed to be so tough that with normal drop as well they should not break... even if it is Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Then how come the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 is breaking on its own with just regular use of the phone for so many users??

Any explanation would be highly appreciated. Thanks.
