    Hello,

I've bought a OnePlus 7 Pro 5G and I'm on Three within a 5G area with line of sight but 5G won't work. Wonder if anyone knows anything? I've called Three and they said it's all up and running and working so it should be all good.

    Thanks
    Raj

Isn't OP 7 pro 5G locked to EE only in UK? How did you manage to purchase the phone?

You won't get 5g with other carriers as it is locked to EE.
However as per EE and OnePlus support once EE unlocks the phone you might get 5G signal if other carrier supports the compatible 5g band.
Not sure if anyone has verified this.
I wanted this phone but EE's current 5G plans are ridiculously expensive even for one year old device.

    You brave man.

Twice I've bought a phone from cex, and on both occasions the phone has ended up blacklisted several months later.....never again!

I'm battling with this as well, pretty much renders the phone pointless. Three claim that it needs a software update from OnePlus, given how far behind the 5G version is on updates that basically means we're screwed.

In the UK it works on 3400MHz for EE, so that shouldn't the issue as Three also use 3400MHz.

    Hello,

If your OnePlus 8 pro , OnePlus 8 or Oneplus 7T pro 5G is not connecting to 5G in 5G covered area .

    # Use single 5G SIM card in number 1 slot.

    Follow the steps here :

    Requirements:

1- install EngineerMode apk manually on your phone: http://www.mediafire.com/file/i72tnya1aawo09v/Engineeringmode_V1.01.0.apk/file

2- On you computer you need to have OnePlus driver installed:

    http://www.mediafire.com/file/zkua1ob0dzaor09/OnePlus_USB_Driver_Setup.exe/file

3- QPST-application. Please find application from internet:

    http://www.mediafire.com/file/ocpqez9whauy5w6/QPST_2.7.474.zip/file

4- The two XML files with enabled 5G network: http://www.mediafire.com/file/go0qava73eiz0m6/Carrier_Policy.zip/file

5- USB-cable between your computer and phone.

    When you finish and ready:

1- On phone you have to dial to *#801# and enable Rndis, diag switch. Don’t enable Serial-interface if you have installed apk manually.

2- Connect your phone to your computer via USB.

    3- Open then QPST-application.

4- On the menu Open Start Clients then QPST EFS Explorerand wait until you see the files.

    5- Then go to policyman.

6- In the policyman - right list, you will see two file : carrier_policy.xml and carrier_policy.xml_Subscription01. Copy them to your computer as a backup if you need them in the feature.

7- Now delete the two files (carrier_policy.xml and carrier_policy.xml_Subscription01) files from the policyman - right list.

8- Now go to the tow XML files you already download earlier – 5G enabled network. Copy them to the policymandirectory , drop and drag one each time.

9- Reboot your phone , your 5G is enabled now.

    # On OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro you may have to enable 5G NR via *#*#4636#*#* then Phone Information -> Set preferred network type. Choose :

    NR/LTE/TDSCDMA/CDMA/EvDo/GSM/WCDMA

    Or

    NR/LTE/TDSCDMA/GSM/WCDMA

    Enjoy the 5G speed

jhoon you're a genius, it worked! Not a very user friendly solution for the majority of phone users so OnePlus really ought to fix it themselves.

I just received new update from OnePlus , unfortunately they didn't fix it !!!!

any way i lost the 5G after the update.

I did the method again , 5G working now .

OnePlus is not listening to the customer*s problems regarding to the 5G , i am not sure why !? as i been in touch with OnePlus support and provided them with this fix .

    Best Wishes [e]1f389[/e]

5G isn't even workable in most areas, so of course you're not gonna get 5G service. (Unless you mean 5 Ghz which is a completely different thing...)
