I recently updated to the beta version of Android 11. However, now I am not able to connect to any 5Ghz bandwidth wifi near me. It just doesn't connect

Whenever I try to connect, It just shows unable to connect and connects to the 2.4Ghz wifi. The same is happening with another 5Ghz wifi I'm using. At first I thought it was because of the router. But then, every other device of mine except the phone has been able to connect to it

PS: the phone had fallen from my hand quite a few times. could the fall have done any damage to the internals? The Display itself is quite washed up due to the falls

5 GHz is like 5G: it sucks at penetrating through walls and anything around the signal that could block it. So unless you're right next to the router (or in the same room as it) it's 2.4 for you.

Does your router have dual-band support in the first place, if you know?

Post issues in the Beta thread if you're using the Beta....simple as that.

What speed is your internet? Unless you are on 100Mbps+ it will make little difference.

I got same issue on my 6T and fixed it by changing transmitting channel of 5GHz WiFi to any of these channels 36 , 40, 44 , 48. Good luck.
