I have the same problem too. sometime it works sometimes it doesn't
I have this error aswell, it's extremely annoying. Any updates on if they are releasing a fix for it ?
have you guys tried the fix Hutch81 posted? it worked for me and has been working since.
1.Go to dialer and enter *#808#
2. Go to device debugging tab and select proximity sensor test.
3. Make sure nothing is covering the phone and tap the offset calibrate button until you see the pass notification. Do this for both the 2cm and 4cm thresholds .
4. Close the dialer and select double tap to wake ...success!
thanks. yes, it works. however it should not be the fix. hopefully they will release a fix soon.
I agree with that. Hopefully something permanent comes down soon
On latest update here. Unlocked US version. The issue is worse after the update. I haven't tried the engineering fix yet.
US version, problem just started. Did the sensor calibration as above. Worked like a charm
2cm value was 0, 4cm was 50. After calibration (using my finger at 2 and 4cm as close as I could), was 50 and 149. Confirmed after calibration it works great, and if I cover the sensor it stops working as intended
how exactly did you do it....I still have issues after calibration. 2 and 4 are at 50. I'm not exactly sure how to calibrate it properly
Has anyone experienced the issue on OOS 9.5.6 (GM1917)? I applied the engineering fix on 9.5.4 but the issue is so random, I can't confirm it is fixed or not.
I just held my finger above the sensor (top middle) at 2cm and 4 cm for each calibration (and making sure it's clear for the first calibration)
same here, it was working fine and all of a sudden it stopped working
I finally got the update yesterday afternoon, but sadly it did not fix this issue. Actually on top of it randomly not working, it now turns on screen and shows the notification bar, and keeps being like that till i turn off the screen.
I am not in for other options of fixing these issues other than those Oneplus adds in updates, it is cool if it works and maybe Oneplus will find that stuff usefull to future fixing this issue.
It is just a bummer that a new phone has an issue like this, and i really hope it is fixed very soon.
It's really weird.
I got the update 9.5.5 for the EU version about one week ago and since then I don't have any issues.
The Ambient display and one tap or double tap on the phone run as expected.
So I am very lucky with the Oneplus 7 but I don't understand why EU version is fine and the other versions are not.
I am on Eu version, got several issues so
I had the issue on 9.5.4 EU but it disappeared alone e never came back. Now I'm on 9.5.5 still no issues
reçu mise a jour 9.5.5 a l'instant on verra a l'usage
on 9.5.5 now the issue came back in a dark room. A made proximity sensor calibration again... I hope there will be a permanent fix soon
same here! this is not acceptable on a phone like this especially after the latest update (9.5.5 EU) that was suppose to fix it. the ambient display features like tap to wake up screen depend on light level to work. Oneplus please look into this seriously as it is affecting the usage quality of the phone.
