Oneplus 7 Pro ambient display not working

    Hey! I have the same problem. Ambient display works almost always except when I'm in a place with low light, at that time the double tap does not work, notifications do not appear even those of the alert slider and it does not show the time when I lift the device. When the light is good everything works without problems

    Mine also stopped working in a day. I think when light in the room is dim, it's not working..... Works sometimes when set is exposed to bright light. But nothing is working, not even lockscreen messages, off screen gestures .....nothing..
    Needs update urgently
    PS: try using your phone in bright lighting condition or flash a light on your display.....it will start working immediately

    I faced this problem the day before yesterday in the evening. It didn't work at all but when I woke up in the morning, it was working again and hasn't stopped working since then.

    the same problem with T-Mobile nebula blue, I got the unit on may 17 in the morning next day 18, Ambient display not working, I am going to T-Mobile store day 19 and change unit for other New nebula blue at this moment the second units not have issued at all.

    I was able to reproduce this issue.

    Double-tap and single-tap works only when the phone is in bright lighting condition and DOES NOT work the other way round.

    I have tried multiple times and it seems to be (not sure though) a problem with proximity/light sensor calibration - hope I have technically sounded right!

    Basically, it requires more light.

    @Shine L. @David Y. @Manu J. Hope there is a fix coming!

    Same here after the update. That's kinda annoying tbh. It does in fact works to put a bright light over the phone.

    I have the same issue but i've noticed something. Tap to wake up and the ambient display only work in bright light conditions. I turned my lights in my room on and set them bright and the issue was gone. After there was lower light, the issue continued.

    I'm having the same issue. Double tap to wake and ambient display won't work after the update. It's not working in the sun, in the car, under shade, etc and setting is turned on and I've cleared ambient cache. I've also performed the most recent update. Help is appreciated

    I noticed that ambient display as for lift or tap option when we are in dark environment don't work.

    I was at my bed with no lights up and to turn on the phone I need to use the power button. I light up my bed lamp and point the screen of the smartphone to the light and it works fine.
