    If you are using the phone while charging for example, playing games, having options on such as mobile data, location etc it takes longer than 1h.

    That problem can start if over the time you go usually below 10% before you start the recharge.

    Going below 10% and especially to ZERO will damage the cells on the battery quickly and eventually tge battery will last shorther time and it might take longer to fully charge.

    However your phone is just released so is new and I don't think that is the problem.

    Is it possible that some dirt, crumble, dust or similar ended on the charhing port? (Perhaps got from your pocket or work environment?)

    Try to clean the charging port delicately using a toothpick. That might help...

    And if you want your battery to live 5 or more years healthy, NEVER go below 20% before you recharge it and possibly charge it only to 80% (not 100%) and don't be fixated with SOT.

    High contrast fixes the issue thanks. BUT, i want the captions to work without having to enable high contrast, just like any other android would. High contrast is a temporary solution to one problem; I don't like what high contrast text does to all text

    My phone gets heat up alot while charging, More than my old oneplus 6. Is this the problem with every device or mine. I doesn't feel like any liquid cooling functionality here. It gets too hot.

    Hi Team,

    I had about 27% at night, early morning woke up to check the time and it only consumed 5% n I had 22% battery left but my phone was way toooo hot, as if someone is using continuously throughout the night. I restarted the phone and it became normal.

    why is this happening. I am pretty sure I did not have any background apps running.

    this is the first time it happened since I bought the phone n it's the only time till now.

    please update a fix for this.

    Guys we have very different results in screen time. Lots of you attach the information, what battery- draining settings you turned off or on to get the result, but only some of you write about -maybe the most relevant thing- the brightness.

    I was a little bit surprised, when i saw first the lots of 6h + SOT printscreens here because i tried to turn off certain things or set the the resolution of my device, but theese settings only helped a little bit.. i wasn't able to even reach the 6 hours screen time!!
    Now i had a day when i spent most of my time indoors, so i was able to test the brightness settings, and the results of this is surprising for me!
    There is a huge effect even 10% percent change in brightness level in the the battery life. For instance, around 25-30% avarage brightness level you get easily the 10+ hour screentime that caused huge surprise in this forum.
    So those who complain about the battery life, first check that brightness level, and set the screen only as bright as it needed... Im sure that this will help a lot to the battery. And thoose who send printscreens with battery life, should note also the avarage brightness level to get a clearer prlicture of usage.

    My battery charging speed and time
    20mins = 35%
    30mins = 50%
    40mins = 65%
    50mins = 80%
    60mins = 88%
    70mins = 93%
    80mins = 97%
    86mins = 100%
    Is this normal? Or should I visit one plus service center?

    Yes it is normal. It takes around 80 - 90 min to charge from 0 - 100%.
