It was so easy to get good battery performance when I first got my OnePlus 7 Pro. Now, with each update it has gotten harder and harder ( I mean with having to adjust more things on the phone to get it; app hibernating, screen brightness level, dark mode, battery optimization, etc.). Now many are struggling with Google Play Store sucking a lot of the battery usage ( could be a Play Store issue and not a OnePlus). As of yesterday I'm testing with Google Play Store deactivated, so far so good. Deactivating the Play Store.

Noticed all of this around this month. Gallery is draining my battery. First picture was while I was sleeping. Second picture was the same day, just towards the end of it. Phone gets hot when charging. I use a OnePlus charger with a OnePlus case. This hasn't changed since I got the phone, but the phone started getting uncomfortably hot out of nowhere. Around the same time this issue began

I think i found a solution for Google Play Store draining battery.
Its second day and everything looks ok.
    - Stop Google Play Store, clear cache and data. Update to v22.0.18 f.ex. from https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...-0-18-21-0-pr-333153705-android-apk-download/

    - Clear data and cache Google Play Services and update: Google Play store > find Google Play Services > Update or install from: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...-36-15-120400-333172415-android-apk-download/

    - after that, reboot phone.

After 2 days and one night, Play Store is not on the podium on battery use. Looks like before. Pls, give me a feedback did it work for you.

Disable it, and use Google photos. I don't use oneplus gallery app.

9GAG takes up a lot of battery.
Usually comes with a warning asking if I want to Force Stop the app.
Phone heats up as well if I'm browsing 9gag for a significant amount of time.

Can anyone explain why this happens when using 9gag?

    I'm using OP7Pro 12/256GB, Open Beta 18 build, security patch Sept 2020.

Simple: don't use 9gag. Use the site itself where it's not usurping resources.

My Oneplus 7 pro gives average screen on time of 3-4 hours
    Wifi is always on
Bluetooth on but not connected always
    location on always
    no heavy task
mostly whatsapp, YouTube and other social media stuff
    battery life is very poor
and charging time is also quite high (1.5 hours)

Here's your problem then: "location on always".

If you have no reason to have it on, turn it off.
