Ok so I got a question that I had been wondering a while about and can't really find a good answer, so when you open the op7p camera it can zoom in 3 preset modes, 0.6x, 1x and 3x. The question is which of these is the 48mp camera? or which has the best quality? Thanks for your time

of you want to use fill 48MP, you have to use pro mode in the settings. otherwise the camera shoots in 12MP.

48 Mpixel is the main sensor, but to achieve better image quality they use so called "Pixel Binning" where an algorithm use 4 Pixels to render 1 Pixel. In Pro mode you can switch to 48 M Pixel. Telephoto lens is using full 13 MPixel when working in Portrait mode, but goes to 8 MPixel in Zoom Mode 3.0 or more. Telephoto lens will ONLY get activated when: Distance is more than around 50 cm, and there s enough light (Outdoor shots ) etc. otherwise automatically the main sensor gets activated and uses digital zoom.

EDIT: The best quality.... The software does it for you in automode, it s switching the lenses / sensors to get best quality. You can help a bit: Only use zoom outdoor with very good light situation with exact 3X and distances longer than 50 cm. Then the telephoto lens will do it s work. Check EXIF data after the shot: 4,76 mm is main sensor, 6,95 mm is telephoto lens. Wide angle is 2,25 mm. At moment you ll se different colour reproduction between main sensor and telephoto sensor, hopefully this issue will get solved soon.

As far as i know it s not possible to use the Telephoto sensor or the wide angle sensor in pro mode, i was criticizing this at Oneplus 5 a lot, since i want to choose the lenses manually with raw data output .
