When I make a call they do not listen to me as well as voice notes, the microphone seems to catch very little because I need to yell to get listened.

Did you get any response from a tech for this to create and send logs/screenshots? I'm having the exact same issue on my GM1917. See if you're experiencing the same:

    1) Try activating google assistant "Hey Google, or OK Google" while your phone is just sitting and not in use. I believe it uses the top mic and should hear you and respond normally.
    2) Try activating google assistant manually - open Google app, press the microphone in the search bar and begin speaking. If nothing registers, try it again and put your mouth directly up to the bottom mic and see if it hears you.
    3) Use the stock recorder app and see if it hears anything or if you have to put your mouth to the bottom mic as in step 2.

Those are the things I'm facing now and have sent in logs related to both issues. Using the phone up to my ear, non-speakerphone mode, yields cutting out of my voice (which has been tested by me leaving voicemails to my work phone line).

Exact issue here. I made a test and found out that the top mic is working ok but the other mic (the bottom I assume) is not good. When I use front facing cam for video, I dont hear a sound. Same thing for voice recorder, or sending voice clip in FB messenger for instance. I tried to yell and stick the bottom mic near my mouth then I can hear myself but really really really low sound that was recorded (and I had to really stick my ear near the speaker just to hear the yelling that got recorded. I tried wiping cache and data from recovery mode. Didnt solve it.

Im not sure if this is a hardware or software issue. It was just working fine 2 weeks ago.

Im also using OnePlus 7 Pro

I submitted a software bug issue, but they never responded with anything useful. I actually wound up submitting a RMA request. There was indeed a hardware problem with mic 2 & 3, which are both at the bottom of the phone. They replaced a faulty circuit from what was explained. Since they returned it, the phone has been working without any issue at all.

I have your same problem on a 7t pro mclaren. who calls me hears the sound very low and sometimes the level of the voice rises and falls until you hear nothing. until 2 days ago it worked well, I did not make updates. on the other hand, everything works perfectly perfectly.

I had the same issue for a while, looked around software nothing showed up as an error so I looked around the phone and found that the mics have been clogged by dirt (I have a dead skin issue 😬) so I picked a needle and *carefully* picked it out on all mics, I do not recommend this technique and will not held responsible for any damages that might cause.

But it did fix the mic issue I had, I don't know if you guys are facing the same thing, good luck ans hope I helped out some [e]1f601[/e]

I seem to have the same issue as described. Here are the steps to reproduce:

    1. Make a call via normal cellphone call/ Whatsapp
    2. Put the phone against you ear (not speaker phone)
    3. The person on the other end of the call will be unable to hear you. The voice is very very faint.
Now I tried the same steps, only this time I spoke into the top microphone (next to the pop up camera). The voice was clear. It was also clear when I used the bottom microphone without holding the phone to my ear. And lastly it was clear when I used a wired/ Bluetooth headset.

    Concluding Thoughts:
    - This is a software issue
    - The software is incorrectly selecting the wrong microphone when the proximity sensor detects that the phone is against your ear.

    Hi,

My new 7T is having the same problem..The email instruction received from the OnePlus Help is asking me to "erase everything" or else visit a Service Centre as the last option.
Shall I go for "Erase Everything" Options though i have deleted Cache in Safe Mode earlier but in vain? If its a hardware issue, then OnePlus should replace my phone. One thing I can note in the forum that many of us have the same problem.

When using my phone on speaker phone the person I am speaking with cannot here every 4th or 5th word and will also say I sound distant and soft. I have tried speaking closer etc to no avail.

I did a search for this issue and found plenty on 6t mic issues with 3rd party apps, but thus far nothing with the 7 pro. I have not personally experienced this with my previous OnePlus phones.

Is there an issue or is the mic just that bad? I have not had issues with any other app, but I do not really use anything that would use the mic except the camera. https://omegle.onl/

Dont know anyone replied for the solution or not. But the problem is, mic is not switching when we use speakerphone. When we use speakerphone, top mic should function at that time and not the bottom one. Like, when we are on watsapp video call, top mic receives voice, and it works fine. Only when it is on speaker phone, mic is not switching to top one.

I have a 7pro and mine does the exact same thing.

I've reached out to support to see if they can replace my phone.

When I use my phone in a loudspeaker, the person I am talking to cannot say every fourth or fifth word and will say that it sounds distracted and sensitive. I tried to speak closer and so on without any result.

I did a search for this issue and found a lot of micro 6t problems with external applications omegle tv, but so far nothing with specialist 7 pro. I have not encountered it with my old OnePlus phones.

Is there a problem or is the microphone so awful? I have not had any problems with any other application, but I do not really use the microphone other than the camera.
