I'm having hard time pulling a trigger on a $750 OnePlus phone....
We used to laugh and mock people on this forum for buying $650+ phones just a year ago. Really having hard time doing it. We started out here not that long ago with $299 for flagship specs. Wha' happened?

True, but since that time, the phones that used to be $650+ are now retailing for $900+.

Not true. Google Nexus 5 came out few months before OnePlus One, that same Nexus 5 was midrange specs with excellent software and it sold for $399 for 32GB version. You can buy it's successor Pixel 3A for $399 for 64GB version. I'm not saying I'm against it, I'm just having hard time jumping on it.

You sound like my wife, go from one extreme to another. I didn't say 7 should be $299 but it shouldn't be pushing $800 either. Did newest top specs triple in cost since 2014? No, they didn't. But the market did and OnePlus is cashing in on it. Nothing wrong with it but call it what it is. I'm from another era where $800 is not normal price for a mobile phone which is how I ended up on this forum back in 2014 when it started.

Just ordered mine from T-Mobile. Wonder if they're going to hold back the updates like they did the 6T though

The Pixel 3A is less like the Pixel 3XL than the OP7P is, though.

Also, I may be coming from a different perspective a bit. I paid $500 in 2006 to import a Sony-Ericsson K800i. Of course, when I did so, I said that I'd never spend any more than that on a phone. Then again, smart phones are a different beast. I'm not saying I'm relishing where the price has gone on phones, I'm just saying that comparing apples to apples, the OP7P is actually a good deal.

Agreed, if it delivers in which case it's an EXCELLENT deal. Btw - I used to own K800 too :) I used to change phones every few months, cook ROMs, flash, etc. Now I like out of box experience and change once per year. I'm on Pix 2 XL since March 2018, prior to that I was on OnePlus 3T - to this day the best phone I ever had (mom uses it now, perfect for her with dual SIM and fast charge since she travels a lot internationally). I'm going to wait few weeks or maybe a month to hear some real world feedback on the 7. I don't go by YouTube reviews for anything anymore, especially since 99% of them got the stuff for free to review, including lodging, flights, etc.
