OnePlus 7 Pro screen burn in already?!?!

    Its only been about 8 months. Im not even sure what it is burned in from...

    EDIT: Its worst than I thought. The whole top is burned in as well. It actually shows the distance to the next turn on Waze. That number always changes, so not sure how that is burned in. This is whack!!

    Its from Waze!! I only use it about an hour a day. 30mins to and from work. That is terrible!!

    Does it not talk to you while the screen is off like Google Maps does?
    How bright do you have the screen when you are using it?
    You did this, not OnePlus.

    This is why any navigation app that I use I turn the screen off, OnePlus 3T that I used for around 2 years and my OnePlus 6T which I later upgraded to and been using for over a year now have both never had this issue, the screens are as new as ever :D not even the status bar icons and clock are burned into the top of the displays.

    Being a volunteer mapper and mapping / navigation app enthusiast and tester, I spend more time using navigation and mapping apps than almost anyone I know. I've never had a burn-in problem. All I do to prevent it is keep the screen brightness at about 75 - 80 percent tops. Usually it's closer to 50 - 60 percent.

    When using navigation apps as a mapper, turning off the display isn't an option. Some of the things I'm looking for include inaccuracies in the map such as new roads, closed roads, closed bridges, mislabeled roads (for example, dirt roads labeled as paved roads or private roads labeled as public roads), intersections converted to roundabouts, and so forth. I'm also looking for places where the satellite signal is unreliable due to topography. So I have to have the display on.

    The same is true when I'm testing or demonstrating a navigation or mapping app. You have to have the screen on all the time to test or demonstrate the app. Nonetheless, simply by keeping the screen brightness under 75 - 80 percent, I've never had a burn-in problem.

    When I'm using a navigation app as a user rather than a mapper or tester, however, I enable the "power saving" mode that most nav apps have. Typically, they turn the screen off until the next spoken instruction, at which time they light the screen until the maneuver has been executed. I do this more for power savings, but it also helps preserve the screen.

    All that being said, if I ever do have a burn-in problem, I won't blame the phone manufacturer. I'll eat the cost as part of the price I pay for my hobby.

    Many hours with the same symbols on screen. If you can live with having them hidden you will save your screen. Personally I only show VoWiFi, Silent mode and stuff like that is temporary. Battery stats and many other things can be shown via widgets and stuff and that creates a more variated and screen friendly environment.

    I have the same screen burn in the notification area and little bit in finger print scanner. I've registered warranty replacement, since the phone is about 9 months old and I tend to believe the screen should last longer.
