Display OnePlus 7 Pro screen turns off after reboot after 10.3.3 update

After updating to 10.3.3 every time I reboot my phone the screen turns off after the boot sequence. I then have to press the power button to see the lock screen. Never was like this before as after the boot sequence it would just go straight to the lock screen. Anyone ever see this happen?
I've wiped the cache and still the same, other than that, everything else is fine.

Just an FYI, wiping cache does absolutely nothing.

What are you using to change the wallpaper?

How long are you letting it sit post-boot screen? Pretty sure this is a security thing.

This seems to be a bug with Navigation bar & gestures, the only fix is to use Navigation gestures (left & right) with the option set to show the bottom bar. In my case I was using the fixed navigation bar (back, home, recents) which was working fine until the latest update.

I've had that on 7 Pro a long time on beta channel.
Wonder if 8 Pro has the same problem

Same problem here. The issue appeared with application of the May 2020 update. Whether I perform a power off/power on or a restart, the screen stays dark. It used to stay on and display the keypad to enter the pin code. Now I have to press the power button twice to get to the keypad screen. The first power button press just flashes the keypad screen and goes black again. The second power button press keeps the keypad screen on so I can enter my pin code. I keep my phone pretty much the way it came out of the box because I'm not a phone power user and it's only a year old. This issue is probably a minor annoyance but it would be nice to have a resolution.

Yup, it is global. Not a feature, it's a BUG!!!

Looks like screen time-out is set to Zero. Earlier when you restarted your phone you would go straight up to lock screen to enter pin. If you don't enter pin for some 30-60secs then only screen would go blank. Now restart, Bam! Screen already blank. It got me a few times, did I restart my phone or not.. may be didn't press power key long enough, try again and huh! already switched on!

I've submitted it as a bug using feedback button. If you all do as well may be it will draw their attention to fix it asap.

I have the exact same problem. Didn't notice it until today. Hopefully it gets fixed in the next update.
