is there going to be a difference between the international and T-Mobile variant this year for software updates? will the Tmobile version be able to do beta software?

There will always be a difference. TMobile controls the software updates on the Android devices that are purchased through them.

I am. It's how carriers work. Only software updates that come straight from the manufacturers are iOS, and that's because Apple mandates it after the disaster they had with AT&T w/ updates

the T-Mobile Google pixel is treated the same as iOS updates, and the OnePlus 7 Pro T-Mobile variant this year has come with 9.5.4 out of the box.along with the international layout in the about section.

Well....let's just put it this way. I am a T-Mobile customer and I will be purchasing the OP 7 Pro directly from OnePlus for that very reason as well as others which I won't mention here.

What I want to know is will the model # of the phone you get from T-Mobile be the same as that version of the phone (6gb, 8gb, 12gb blue or gray etc) that you would get directly from OnePlus?

A long while after the regular 6T. Which means they're still going through the TMobile bloating and certification process

The only app I noticed that T-Mobile added was their own T-Mobile app. I don't see any other bloatware, which is nice.

The fact that one can purchase a handset from either T-Mobile OR OnePlus directly would suggest that there is a difference between the two. Locked vs. Unlocked comes to mind, but there may be others.

I think that TMO just upped their release number to 9.0.11 as a PR exercise as the changelog of...

"Enhanced Messaging Experience and Android April Security Update"

... hardly warrants a massive jump of 7 updates. :D

As we have seen with the OnePlus 6T... it is not so much the bloatware that TMO add but which stock global features they take away and how often they update their own firmware.

Thanks for the reply. I had no idea they actually removed/changed part of the software features. That kinda stinks, I wonder what they change? I knew about the updates, but I can live with that.

Check out... 6T TMobile version vs unlocked thread.

My advice would be to wait until their is a comprehensive comparison between the T-Mobile (USA) carrier minority variant and the stock OnePlus global model.
