OnePlus 7 Pro Suddenly Completely Dead

    raz009922 , May 20, 2021 :
I have one plus 7 pro 5g (sprint ). The phone worked perfectly on my commute home and I placed it down on my bed with ~80% battery left. After 4/5 hours later I pick it back up and it does nothing. It just completely dead. It does nothing.
The screen won't turn on, there are no signs of life at all. I then tried to hold the power button for 10 seconds. Nothing. 20 seconds. Still nothing. A full minute, nothing at all.

    Connect to charger = nothing

Power + volume down = nothing (I wasn't holding this combination long enough!)

Power + volume up = nothing

    Power + up + down = nothing

    Power button for 20 seconds x 5 = nothing

This is pretty troubling. Is there something I may have missed? It seems odd that the phone would just suddenly die like this.
(I have no warranty left and there is no office oneplus center in my region)

    Motherboard malfunction maybe?
Best bet is to contact OnePlus Support.

There is no official one plus care in my region. So it's too much worrisome.

Hmm....that's long enough in most cases.

You might have a dead board unfortunately.

Did you try connecting to a PC ??

    Press and hold Vol -

Connect to a PC and see if anythign shows up in device manager or any popups from Windows.

I am in bangladesh right now. and this phone was bought from USA. that's why i cant give this phone to official op service center. they said that they couldn't repair this phone due to some kind of issue. so i am doomed now.

Can you not send it back to the US somehow ??

That seems to be the only way you can have a chance of somehow getting it repaired.

Since its the Sprint version , Not sure if the internals or layout are any different or else , I'd suggest sourcing a replacement board and getting it done at a local shop.

I'd suggest you want for a couple of months and hope you can send it across to the US.

If you're not able to boot into EDL then you have to replace the motherboard.

If I was in your shoes, I would give a last try by looking for a good guide to unbrick the phone using MSM Tool to flash stock via EDL mode.

Before doing this charge your phone over night.

    I wish you luck 🤞🏻 😇 😬 🥶

Hope things work out for you.
