OnePlus 7 pro went black and won't turn on

    Hi All,

Sorry if I am creating a duplicate thread but as you can imagine having a brand new phone not turn on is quite unnerving.

I was using my device and I began unresponsive( which has happened a couple of times in the past few days) but hitting the lock button and unlocking as always solved it. However, is this case the phone is refusing to turn on.

Most people suggest booting into safe mode but I can't even get the logo to load. I have held the power button for 10-15 seconds and it does not even vibrate. I charged it for an hour but it did not even load the powering screen.

I have put in a service request but in the meantime wanted to see if anyone else is having a similar issue and what happened.

    Thank you in advance.

I'm having the same problem for the second time. Phone has been in repair few weeks ago. They said there was nothing wrong, they only had to charge it.....
    Bad one plus!

I experienced the same issue in the last few days, pressing the power button and connecting the charger didn't result in turning the device back on, the only solution which resulted in a working device is pressing the power button for 30sec and it turned back on, so it doesn't look like an hardware failure to me but it's software related I think.

I will try that. I am currently trying to completely drain it and then power it up. The most i held it for was 20 seconds so maybe more will work?

Thanks for letting me know. Did they give you an option to replace the device?

Yes, it would not even startup. I seem to have been able to drain the device but it does not seem to be charging now. If it does charge, I will try booting in safe mood

yes it has happened twice . my 7 pro its been acting up lately
2 weeks a go the phone went to stand by mode , and then it did not want to wake up ,it look like it was dead or power off ,but the battery had 60% try to charge it , press power button for 12 sec ECT and nothing works , after an hour later I tried power button and + volume at same time and it finally turn on again.

now yesterday the same issue happened again and very frustrating , any tips or any update I need to do . not happy if I have to do this reboot every 2 week, my phone it's only 2 months old, if this keeps happening I Will return this phone back to OnePlus.

Just to add to this, I also got the problem this morning on my OnePlus 7 (not Pro) for the first time. It was working fine last night, was charging fine (and on 70+%) and it was completely dead this morning. Power button did nothing, even long pressed for a minute, but pressing volume up/down simultaneously with the power button got it to switch on somehow after trying for ages. Was on 99% battery so nothing to do with charge.

Really unnerving for a new phone to do that! I'll file a support request too and hope that enough of them will get this issue bumped up in priority.
