Assigning custom sound/tone for outgoing text messages
Hi, One Plus 7 Pro user here. (after 6 long years of blind love for samsung). so far, awesome. just getting used to oxygen os & enjoying the cleaner android interface.
Could somebody please enlighten me as to how to assign a custom tone for outgoing text messages. I have searched high and low on google but could not find any definite solutions, atleast for non rooted users. I have downloaded one of the outgoing message tones of iphone (.wav format | 16 Bit | 48 kHz)
In general phone settings, under Sounds & Vibrations, there is an option to assign custom sound in SMS Ringtone setting and I was able to assign the above said downloaded sound and it works but the sound plays for incoming text messages. The outgoing text message sound remains the same (default)
I checked in the settings of the native messaging app but could not find an option to assign the above said custom tone. There is an option with a toggle to turn off or on outgoing messaging sound
The default outgoing text message sound is not bad but I would love to change it to the downloaded one.
Thanks in advance to the One Plus community. I am sorry if this thread seems to be about a trivial matter.
So, I just switched 2 days ago to the OnePlus 7 Pro from the iPhone XS MAX. There are some things I miss about the iPhone and some things I love about the OnePlus 7 Pro.
One thing I'm confused about is everything I watched about the OnePlus 7 Pro stated the benefit of having a full, notch-less screen. So, my question is WHY are YouTube videos and other videos embedded within news sources NOT actually viewable in FULL SCREEN?
With the iPhone all you had to do was pinch & zoom to go full screen (in spite of the notch), but it's not working on my OnePlus 7 Pro!
make sure you have the rotation switched on and video on the full screen. initially it will not cover your entire landscape screen but spread out two fingers and ta dah! Full screen.
So it works on YouTube when you watch a video on the YouTube app. But any video embedded in like a news source will NOT go Full-Screen!
I haven't noticed this. Guess it is not important to me as long as what I see is crispy clear and has excellent sound quality. I am surprised though that you bought a cheap Chinese phone and you expect it to behave like an iPhone. What provoked the switch? I personally didn't go for an iPhone because I do not feel they have done enough to win me back. Battery life, build quality... the amount of times I had to sit in that queue at the Apple store to get problems sorted... I feel me and many others have sent a strong message to Apple by turning away from them and the message is give us more phone for the money and be innovative, offer us something others don't.
Well, I bought a "cheap Chinese phone" based off of its reviews! I am tired of throwing $1200+ to a brand of phone that's the same old same old. I haven't had an Android phone in 10 years so I'm having to start over. I was just asking a question out of curiosity because I thought that's what this little "Community" was about. Guess I'll refrain from asking questions and expecting some "CHEAP CHINESE PHONE" to perform like an iPhone!
You can ask questions and we will all help you to the best of our abilities. The OnePlus 7 Pro is an incredibly good phone but it has concentrated on things that matter the most. No phone can have it all. For example the IP rating certification - it is just one more thing that pushes prices up. OnePlus decided to skip it. Their phone is dust and water resistant but it hasn't got the pedigree. Never mind all the top manufacturers battling on specs just to blow smoke in the face of consumers. The iPhone has awful sound despite its huge price. You wouldn't know it has awful speakers if you only heard that but once you compare different handsets, then ... At the end of the day, it boils down to what is important to you. But don't go getting angry at your new phone for not being an iPhone clone. In my opinion it is way better! And once you get accustomed to using it, I am sure you will feel the same. I apologise for upsetting you with my earlier response.
Google Play services is consuming lot of battery approx 35-40%
Please let me know how to fix this issue.
close the app after using it?
you cannot close or disable this
The phone determines itself which apps/processes use too much energy and restricts them based on your usage/needs. So if you are constantly downloading new apps, it has to stay active, otherwise it will only periodically check for updates. I had this with Samsung push services as I am using the Samsung health app. But now my phone knows it is not high priority so I no longer gets identified as a battery drainer. It takes at least a week for the phone to learn your needs and adjust. This is my experience. Maybe someone else can talk techie stuff with you and it will make more sense All I can say is "pretend you didn't know what is draining the battery the most and just look at the end result". If you get about 9-10 hours on screen time with roughly 24-30 hours between charges, you have nothing to worry about.
who many stereo speakers in the OnePlus 7.
I am little confused about the quantity of speaker in this phone, as at the time of playing music on my phone I have noticed only one speaker is blowing which is located in bottom left corner of the phone.
can anyone please confirm is there dual stereo speaker in OnePlus 7 basic or not...
as per the OnePlus 7 manual there are two speakers on your handset, one on top and one in the bottom. Have you gone into settings to check what mode is enabled? I can recommend two things: first do the setup for speakers for music and then playback a track in portrait mode (check speakers) and landscape mode (check speakers). Note your findings. Then use quality ear pods or a headset (you will need the proper adapters) and check again. Do you get the same results? If after these you still do not get stereophonic playback, do a restart. Did things improve? If not, you may need to reset the phone (make sure important files photos contacts etc have been backed up before) and start over. If everything fails, you will need to contact Technical Support in your country/region to receive further assistance.
