I don't think they'll immediately half software updates but I'm sure it will definitely slow down. Peep how many 7t post we currently see on this app. There won't be that many once the McLaren is released.

I assume the 5g model will have the same fate as the one on Sprint and not receive updates hardly ever.

not root, they found a way to install the global unlocked software on the T-Mobile device.

I did it on my 6t and it went great! now I have the option for 2 SIMs if I want it. all I have to do is buy a new tray (and sim...)

additionally I don't have all TMO bloat, and some issues I had with Verizon after unlocking my phone are all gone now.

Yea I figured that you didn't need root. But do you now have 2 IMEIs? How does that work

    yep! see attached screenshot.

it works because the hardware is the same as the global version (besides the SIM tray) the second SIM is blocked by TMobile software (as nobody needs 2 SIMs from the same carrier...)

So then I wonder, does the new OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition 5G have a disabled 2nd Sim slot and 2nd IMEI, but we won't ever probably be able to find out because there is no international ROM version for that phone 🤔

finally got the MSM tool to work, just to find out that I don't have the correct drivers. Oh well, now I really hate this phone, nobody can tell me where to go to get the drivers. I just want to smash this networked locked, no update, no security patch phone with a hammer. I worked hours and for nothing. Here's to never buying a OnePlus phone again! I won't recommend them to any T-Mobile customers that I know either

this was more directed at how new 5g really is. TMobile is the only one currently (in the U.S afaik) that is running 5g on the 600mhz bandwave. With this tech being new I would hold off more until 5g becomes a standard. 4g Lte is plenty good enough for what I use the device for.

grabbing any device from a Carrier is going to have it's drawbacks. this is part of the exclusivity of the device being on TMobile. teaming up with a major carrier is a "mainstream" move. if you want to o continue to have the capability of dual SIM, learn how to hack. [e]1f60a[/e] you got this [e]1f4aa[/e]

l am too frustrated not to even think about trying anymore. This has triggered my PTSD. I just need to calm down and figure out what I want to jump to next or if I even want to stay with T-Mobile. I am way too frustrated to try to guess which drivers will work. I am tired of all the lies from both T-Mobile and OnePlus. I will not recommend anyone to either OnePlus or T-Mobile. If I were anyone thinking about trying the 5G, I personally wouldn't do it. There won't be timely current software updates and you will be behind on security patches. You are just wasting your money like I am.
