True, works much better without DC dimming.

sO. the the answer to this problem is to turn off DC and turn off auto dim. they both suck. resetting your adaptive controls won't help you this phone uses cameras instead of an actual sensor to measure ambient light and it's absolutely horrible on all phones out there using cameras and Android 4 ambient light sensing instead of a ten-cent sensor that could have been put into the phone.

that's what I got from research as well. but still today 2 months in, it's quite often not bright enough in dark environments.

I went from a 6t to a 7t and am starting to regret it due to this issue. Closing or switching apps often just makes the screen drop so much brightness. It's horrible. Do 1+ have a voice in here?

Same issue here automatic brightness is not adapting
to light level the way I am used to with my previous OnePlus 4. I will try another brand when I replace my 7t.If this is deep learning Ai, I am really afraid of the future. I have already invested into OnePlus 0, which made from Papyrus.
