Oneplus 7t pro Charging Issue via OnePlus 7T Pro Haze Blue

  1. Saurabh_Naik , via OnePlus 7T Pro Haze Blue , Mar 22, 2020 :
My oneplus 7t pro has a wierd software bug. When I keep my phone for charging, sometimes the charging stops all of a sudden. I have to restart the device everytime this happens in order to fix the charging issue. Hope this gets foxed in the next update. Anyone else facing this problem?

I've had one to many friends who have damaged their cables and charging ports and wall chargers and other unfortunate issues "and blamed the software/device lol... My advice is 5 things to check.

#1 Check your phones port make sure it's clean & not damaged.

#2 Swap the cable maybe it's internally damaged. "wire broke"

#3 Try a new wall charger.

#4 Try a new outlet in the house.

#5 all else fails it's probably definitely software related otherwise.

(test & check compatible with all cell phones)

    Hi,
    I bought 7t last Month.
Intially it was charging very rapidly, but now a days it takes lot of time to charge, on an average it takes 30mins toh charge about 25%.
And since the day of purchase I am noticing it drains the battery very rapidly.
Even when the phone is idle it drops about 5% percent in 15-20mins.
I have to charge 3 times in a day.
It hardly gives me usage time of 5-6 hours in a day.

Battery life shortening is common although not a good thing...
But that's just the battery... If that...

It also can be settings on system & apps set high draining more power.

I can't explain that in detail can be many things.

I checked all of that, port is not damaged as my phone is just 1 month old and it is clean. It happens almost everytime after the last update. No other method works i tried other chargers as cables, each of them was an official oneplus cable /charger, still no luck. I have to restart it everytime this happens. Restarting immediately fixes this charging issue.

I checked everything. Only restarting the phone fixes this. Even did a full factory reset, still the same. I think this is a software bug, I contacted oneplus support and reported this bug. They too think this might be a software glitch. The thing is when i put my phone to charge, it shows that uts charging for 5-10 secs and then it stops. Tried reinserting the cable, trying other oneplus cables and charger as my brother has a oneplus as well. Hope they fix this in next update.

You should contact support if that is the problem. The charger /port/ battery may be faulty. You should go to a service centre if your device is in warranty or wait for the next update and hope its a software thing and gets fixed.

Guys even i am facing the exact same issue, when put in the charger it shows charging for 5 seconds then just stops charging.

i tried with 4 other charges including power banks but it won't charge, but as soon as i restart the phone it starts charging.

i even tried a factory reset.

yes, once i restart it works perfectly. No impact on charging speed, no heating issues nothing.

For me everything works as expected once i restart.

Note: I am encountering this issue almost daily as i am a heavy user and have to recharge my phone twice a day.

Yes, it is a software issue. But recently after the latest update 10.3.2, I think it's fixed. I am no longer experiencing this issue. Would post again in this thread if it occurs again.

i just updated to 10.3.2HD65AA and sadly the problem still persists.

i think no one at oneplus is aware of this issue. Hence no mention of this issue and no patches to fix this.
