OnePlus 8 Burn In Already?! via OnePlus 8 Pro Ultramarine Blue

    I've had the OnePlus 8 Pro since the 20th. Only used it to set up my accounts and apps, on and off YouTube/Instagram when home. Yesterday (May 1st), Finally got it working on Verizon, shot some photos and I noticed my status bar icons and bottom nav bar are starting to burn into my display. it's faint but it's only been 2 weeks... I use auto brightness and never set it to full brightness. Wondering if anyone else is starting to notice it on their displays. I opened a report with OnePlus and they are reviewing it to replace the phone

    Does the burn in remains at 60Hz ? I know that 120Hz cause issue with blocky green colors at low brightness and that putting the phone to 60Hz mode fixes that. Just by curiosity but this could show if it's actual burn it or just a consequence of 120Hz

    I've only noticed that very bright whites leave a ghosting effect for a few seconds (QR or UPC code is when it happens for me). Long term burn in has not yet been a problem.

    Yes, just got my email with shipping label to send it to OnePlus to be looked at and replaced. Luckily I also live in the same state as where I'm sending it so hopefully won't take too long

    Hey, did you get the shipping label from UPS? I received mine but i cannot complete it!! it gives me an error when trying to pay the 2€ fee, I cannot charge it to the UPS account number that appears in the shipping label nor anything else.. I cannot deposit it in a UPS store as this quarantine doesn't allow us to visit other places, I need the driver to pick-up the package!

    Yes. I got the UPS prepaid shipping label from OnePlus. Printed the label at staples and had it left there for UPS pickup. Now I just wait for the next steps

    So that "black bar" coming from the camera punch out is a display issue. There have been a couple people with that same issue and that is a manufacturing issue. I would contact OnePlus support asap, take the best quality photos you can of the problem to send to them if they ask to see it.

    I'm also starting to see it unfortunately :( Phone is 5 days old and no more replacement anymore (Old phone is gone).

    How long does the replacement takes? Anyone an idea?

    Giving an update. Package arrived, went through inspection and I got an email today saying my new device was arriving today. No email saying they shipped the new device, just that it's arriving today. so for me, less then a week in turn around from sending it back to getting my replacement.

    Mine will arrive today as well, we can only check the imei to know if it's a new device or not.. hopefully it is as I won't accept the same phone with the issues.
