Seriously though, you should take these "leaks" with a very large pinch of salt.

not sure where to post this but I've been seeing the images leaked for the OnePlus 8 and I'm pretty sad that OnePlus is abandoning the full screen and going for a hole punch design, as someone who despises Samsung and their phones I feel like this would be the point where I abandon ship. I feel like I've already been shown what greatness is with the OP7 PRO and would really be sad to see such a great feature gone

They're not abandoning full screen at all. The 7 isn't full screen, it has a notch.

Now if the 8 Pro has a notch / hole punch, then they would be abandoning it.

I know this is only a rumored leak, but this image of the OnePlus 8 Pro was disappointing for me. I switched from Samsung phones to OnePlus starting with the 7 pro. I absolutely love my 7 Pro. The aesthetics, the operating system and specs are superb. I guess for some people it's not a big deal but I don't like the idea of reduced screen size and a hole punch camera on the front screen. The sliding camera is such a cool design to me and to many others who I know have the same phone. I don't think this post will change a design that's probably already been decided but I figured I'd voice my opinion and see what happens.

    If there's a hole punch, I'm out.

What's next, 3 hole punches? 5 hole punches? What an ugly way to add a selfie camera! I'd still rather have a bezel then a hole punch. And also, for the love of god, put the selfie camera in the center of the screen not off to a side. Selfies look stupid when they off to one side.

Hell yeah! well said, man. Appreciate it a lot!

seriously, what is up with this hole punch camera.. Honestly, I bought OP7pro cuz' it doesn't have any barriers on the screen like notch and all.. (love the infinite display btw). i literally was waiting for the next OnePlus device.. but right after they've shown the device wid the punch camera.. believe me Oh.MyGod!
anyway, I really wish they've just revealed it online as 'leak' to know what ppl think of it. I really do.

I think the major deal-breaker is that people want cheaper phones with better battery life more than 120Hz. Running a 120Hz display at 120Hz does use more energy than running a display at 60Hz.

The weight of the phone feel fine to me, but I work out :)

What matters the most is the security of the phone, my finger print sensor broke one year into owning the oneplus5, I switched to face unlock + software buttons and was surprised how fast and reliable it is, now I can't go back to fingerprint scanner.

Apple currently has best, most secure face unlock(face ID), google pixel 4 has removed the finger print scanner in favour of face unlock. Apple is also planning to use iPhones as a passport, that's how important security is becoming.

Oneplus is alot about the speed of the fingerprint scanner and face unlock, and they advertise this alot, but they don't advertise the security of the phone and its features..

-120hz display, why?... The hardware can't push 120fps in games and there is no need for 120hz android animations
-Why smaller, why not the same thickness or thicker for a 5000mah battery?
-As Oneplus is alreade partner with McLaren a Aston Martin edition wont happen!

smaller because not everyone likes big smartphones. I want to be able to use my phone with 1 hand. today's devices are too big for that

OnePlus launched the OnePlus 7 Pro back in May this year with a 90Hz display. And at the launch event of the 7T in September, the company said that all its future smartphones will sport a 90Hz screen.

This means the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will feature 90Hz displays. But if recent rumors are to be believed, the OnePlus 8 Pro will go a step further and get a 120Hz panel instead of a 90Hz one. Industry tipster Max J. posted an image on Twitter with the caption "Be a 'pro'".

    Screen Shot 2019-11-09 at 8.39.59 AM.png

Many thought he was teasing the Samsung Galaxy S11 with a 120Hz display, but to clear the confusion, he later confirmed that he was actually referring to OnePlus, which means the OnePlus 8 Pro will come with a 120Hz screen.

If this turns out to be true, then the OnePlus 8 Pro will be the first smartphone from the Chinese phone maker to boast a 120Hz display, since the company is unlikely to offer a 120Hz panel with the vanilla 8. We are several months away from the unveiling of the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, but we already got our first look at the pair last month.

The two smartphones look similar and feature punch-hole displays, but the OnePlus 8 sports a triple camera setup while the Pro variant sports a quad camera.
