I have been using the device since one week and today it showed up having a severe green tint on the edges.
it is only visible on white background and it is severe.
    is it a display issue?

Don't contact the customer care support!

I'm going that use an image that another user uploaded elsewhere to show the issue that Amith.k is referring to...

Notice the green'ish/blue'ish tint at the left and the right edges of the screen. Yup?
Well it's not, I repeat, not(!) a display issue.
    It's a glass/physics "issue".
That's easy to see for yourself by simply titling your phone's screen and noticing how the "issue" seems to become less at first, and then slightly move from where it originally was.

It's simply due to the curved screen on the phone.
Other phones with curved screens, from other manufacturers, they also have this same issue (do a tiny bit of Googling and you'll see for yourself).
The edges of the OnePlus 8's screen are curved. This leads to a slight green'ish/blue'ish tint where that curve occurs. It's simply down to how light and physics work.

    There's nothing to be fixed.
You can contact customer care as many times as you want.
You can replace your phone 100 times.
You can wait forever for a software update.
The edge of your phone will still be curved, and it will still obey the rules of physics.

I went to the customer care and they sent the images to technical support and they replied that it is normal nothing can be done about this and the handset won't be replaced neither they are accepting the return request
I am stuck here with this garbage
I have literally wasted my money on this
