How Aperture Affects Depth of Field
Depth of field is the zone of acceptable sharpness in front of and behind the subject on which the lens is focused. Simply put: how sharp or blurry is the area behind your subject.

The lower the f/stop—the larger the opening in the lens—the less depth of field—the blurrier the background.

The higher the f/stop—the smaller the opening in the lens—the greater the depth of field—the sharper the background.

It doesn't really appear to be infrared, too bad because it would be quite simple. Digital camera's have a filter to filter out the ir, you can have it removed. First thought was that OP had a separate sensor without the ir filter, but alas... Quite nice toy though

IR is filtered by the camera lens coating as far as I know...
And additional lens filter is needed anyhow to capture IR with the usual sensor...
    IMG_20200422_181353_001.jpg

There's different filters for various wavelength of the Infrared spectrum...
    This one for 720nm... ;)

filtering is possible but a workaround and not practically (because of the amount of lumen it retains). On a dslr the ir filter can be removed (300 euro) which makes your dslr unfit for normal photography.

    Nice pics bouncer!

Just some I found on the Net to make my point...

Don't have a camera that could shoot those even with the IR filter no matter how hard I try...[e]1f601[/e][e]1f602[/e]

    Good article...!! :)
Hotspots is the problem I suffer when trying with the OP7Pro or OP3T... :(
    No way to change that...

I wonder if it would be possible to use the information collected by the low-res color filter camera to process an image with the effect shot by the main sensor...?

    An LiDAR sensor...?🤔

That would've been cool to... [e]1f44d[/e]🙂

Yeah, I've seen those Photoshop actions for IR simulation...
Even when working it out with layers, inverting, color mixer, adjusting colors, etc .

    Still not the same... 😟
