    H1544532681355 , Oct 15, 2020 :
So disappointed, finally given up on the OnePlus 8 Pro after three different handsets from Amazon, John Lewis and OnePlus. Unable to get VoLTE working for Three UK even after lots of time on the phone with Three and OnePlus support.

Three different SIMs from Three including a new one with a new number. Volte works for each SIM in a OnePlus 7 and iPhone, but not on the 8 Pro. EE SIM instantly works, and the Three Sims work on other phones, just not the 8 Pro.

Been through all the options: firmware update, Logkit function switch, network settings reset, multiple resets but VoLTE option not offered and non functional on any Three SIM.

Love the phone but I cannot live without VoLTE, Three and OnePlus were both very helpful and spent hours on the phone with me but could not get it to work.

Reluctantly returned. Three UK users beware!

Just install beta 2 and job done. 5g, volte and vowifi works. Phone from John Lewis.

Many thanks, the phone's been returned now unfortunately but I may try again once the beta 2 has moved to production. I really loved the phone otherwise.

update to oos11 could be the automatic solution.
When I was using any version of oos10, i always have to activate volte via pc after every update.
I have noticed after updating to oos11, volte is enabled by default.

Thanks, I was able to update to OOS 11 but unfortunately it made no difference to the Volte problem (I do like the new look and feel of 11 though, very clean).

Yes, ditto that 😀 I've had Samsung, Huawei and OnePlus 8 Pro on Three. All supported Volte but none displayed the icon. It seems to be just a Three thing.

Encouraging. Was the option to enable it present in the Wireless/SIM menu? Mine showed only vowifi, no Volte option, both Three and OnePlus were adamant it should be visible as a menu option that could be switched on.

No it was never available to switch on in any menus in any phones.
Do you remember the Three Supervoice promotion a few years back? Supervoice is just Threes name for Volte.
My discussion with Three some time back concluded that everybody got 'Supervoice' as standard if you had a compatible phone (which I think they probably all are now) and so there was no need for a switch or indicator.
From research I've determined that Volte is purely the ability to call over 4G and one of things to look for on your Three phone is that if you make a call and the data indicator stays on 4G then you're making a 4G and therefore Volte call. If the data indicator falls back to 3G (H / H+) then you're not.
Also if you get the HD indicator when making a mobile to mobile call then the other party is using Volte / 4G calling also.
Personally I've never understood why there would be a switch because surely you'd want the service on as standard anyway, especially with the reduction in available 3G bandwidth to accommodate more 4G.

I am tempted to try again, double check calls with just LTE enabled. But please see screenshot from OnePlus 7 with Volte option visible, this is what Three and OnePlus advise I should see on the 8 Pro

I don't have that option either just the vowifi switch on the 8pro. If I switch data to sim2 then volte shows for both Sims

My SIM2 is an O2 sim card and it does display the Volte icon however as mentioned previously I think the Volte icon no show on 3 is purely a 3 thing (though I may swap my SIMs around later to see if the indicator follows the SIM cards).

Tried that, use beta 2 upgraded to 3 and nothing
