is it easier to put the phone on to a wireless charger or plug the cable in?
for example, when I'm at work, my phone sits on the desk doing nothing for six hours per day. I use the phone for about 15 minutes per day when I'm in my office room. so my phone could be on a wireless charger for those six hours and in my hands, not charging for those ~15 minutes. no need to plug and un-plug anything when I'm going to get coffee or lunch or something. so much easier.

of course if you're completely running out of battery and you have to use your phone then it's easier to use it when it's plugged in. but why would you run out of battery if you can easily charge the phone on a wireless charger?

One of the most valuable upgrades that Oneplus has made this year along with official IP rating!

    Hi everyone,

I ordered the new OP8Pro in the pre sales on the launch day, I already got this piece of art and I'm truly amazed.

It was said that we could get a chance to win the new wireless charger but I haven't seen anything on it. Neither an email nor a communication in the forums.

Do you know anything about it?
It's not very logical that the alleged winners should wait almost one month and a half for this information when that contest was published on launch day...

    Regards,
    André

Having had Samsung's with Qi, I wasn't actually a fan of the technology and I never used it. The charge rate was too slow, and you were unable to use your phone whilst on the Qi pad.

Samsung has had Qi on its phones since the S6, but failed to improve on the technology. The S10 now has 10W Qi but it's blitzed by the 30W OnePlus 8 Q wireless charging.

Massive fail by Samsung, and great work by OnePlus. So many people called for OnePlus to include Qi, and they now have, and they're ahead of the game at the first try.

it's a gimmick? In the worst sense. Its not even wireless. You still have to plug a wire cord into a a mains supply socket. For god's sake, just plug your phone into a dash charger, docking station, computer, or almost any USB socket that's handy - even on your TV.

    For real wireless charging:-

    1. Build in solar panels to phone or carrying case if you use one.
    2. We are constantly being radiated with a wide range of EM(electromagnetic energy) from radio, TV, power lines, 2/3/4/5G, WiFi, Bluetooth, the universe, etc, so build in coils and circuits to collect and utilize it
    3. Anymore suggestions?

I remember making and using a crystal/diode wireless radio receivers. No batteries or PSU needed..
Modern diodes and coil antennas would make it even more useable and interesting!
