OnePlus has a biggest fan base in India.
OnePlus is like the go to phone for almost all the users. I think people rely on it a lot. 🙂

It uses X55 modem which natively supports 5G. They might disable it via firmware but the hardware cost is still there. Let's wait to see if oneplus cracks a deal with Qualcomm in this matter.

India has a large enough userbase for them to make a slightly different model for the indian market, as 5G wont be widely available here any time soon, and OnePlus rules in india cos of their competetive pricing so they'll do what's needed to keep the prices down. They'll probably be 40/43 for OP8 variants, and 50/53 for OP8Pro Variants

I am very disappointed that one plus 8 does not have 120 htz refresh rate. I am impressed with interstellar glow.

I am disappointed that one plus 8 Pro does not have interstellar glow as a color.

Also, India is least effected country in terms of COVID cases. even then they are releasing the phone in India in the next few months. They have not released the price also in India.

Hopefully it gets released by Start of June.

and if that is the case I would wait for one plus 8T or limited edition before September or in September.

because I don't want to be heart broken after purchasing it in May.

Snapdragon 865 is embedded 5G Modem in its processor itself. So there is no option to omit 5G option. Pricing will be higher for Oneplus 8 Series by 3000 for 5G and 2000 for 5% GST.

I expect Oneplus 8 priced 44999 for the base variant.

    True
And OnePlus is cheaper in India than anywhere in the world because it is made for Indian markets.

Look at it bro. I told you both the variants are going to be 5G because they always told they are all in for 5g.

I think it will be 40k-42k for OP8 while high end might be 46k-48k. While OP8 Pro will be 52k-54k for basic and high end might be 58k-60k.

i would guess 49,990 INR for 8 base variant
59,990 INR for Pro base variant

but i have a feeling that they could disable the 5G modem via software(Indian versions having different OS features) in India since its of no use currently and price it a little cheaper like 44,990 INR for base 8
54,990 INR for 8 Pro base

Whn oneplus 5 was launched it focused on students now since the price of 8 and 8 pro will be of flagship level we (students) can't afford it. The flagship killer has become a flagship. I can only imagine of having it now.

USD inr conversion rate is at 76 right now. Plus we have added gst. even if you take 72 inr as the conversion rate, price comes around 45k. pretty sure price will not go down below that. also, I think it fits in overall strategy of OnePlus. with OnePlus lite in the plans, they will want to keep a space for that phone. I think they will have
one Plus lite starting variant at 30k
    lite advance variant at 38k
OnePlus 8 starting variant at 45k
    then 52k OnePlus 8 advance.
60k OnePlus 8 pro starting variant
    70k last variant
    85k McLaren edition

that way OnePlus can capture entire spectrum and have special offering at every price range. this pricing makes sense to me
