I have exactly the same problem with educom in austria. Only a reboot helps to be able to make/receive calls. The signal gets lost after some time and nobody can call me. The phone is not usable like this.

    Hello community,

I am new to the OnePlus. Bougt 8T in early January.
I am also noticing network problems. Have arranged for SIM card to be replaced, but reading this thread this will not solve anything.

I am using bob in Slovenia - already seen a couple of other users with the same problem.
Is OnePlus working on solving this issue? If not I will return the phone.

    Best Regards!

I have full signal strength, and 5g service out in front of my home. When I go inside. I have no 5g. I called support, and they told me 5g can't penetrate my home because it's older. And the building materials are old and it can't penetrate older
Home. But 4g is still strong enough . So just leave it alone. Or move to new home.

I have the same problem. Dual SIM (Telenor+Tele2), with data on SIM 2. Occasionally mobile data stops working, and I have to toggle airplane mode to get it working again. All the carriers here in Sweden support band 20, so there is no avoiding that.

Please update on what service provider you are using. Incase JIO. Open my jio app and type slow speed in the LiveChat in JioCare Help and Support tab or HelloJio

Then jio assistant will run a full diagnostic for your jio sim.
Let me know if this helps in diagnosis.

It's all related network bands; lte 20 (800mhrz) is more unstable than 1600 mhrz one. You have to check what band your carrier dealer uses in your area and if your area is more or less populated.

That is not an exuse. I'm was using this same sim with Nokia, Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi. All worked with no problems. Only Oneplus has this problem with losing signal. If they cannot fix this is better to stop selling phones. 800hz,1600hz... doesn't matter. The phone must work.

Hi, i had the same problem with my 8T Austria A1 :

At different locations i had LTE connection but if someone tried to call me, the connection dropped to 3G with roaming.
Excluding Band 20 didnt solve my problem but excluding CDMA Band 1 (2100 MHz) did it for now! I could also reproduce it if i reactivate this Band 1 or exclude it.

    The strange thing:

CDMA Band 1 on: On Calls, Phone sets signal to 3G roaming on Band 1 (2100 MHz)..... Calls dont work.

CDMA Band 1 off: On Calls, Phone sets signal to 3G without roaming also on 2100MHz (which should be Band 1.... everything working fine now.

Hopefully someone from OP reads this and can fix this in an future update.

ok i just made the latest update and guess what, they didnt do anything to handle this problem.

i tried talking with my provider and so on but they cant do anything if the phone doesnt work

For testing i tried to do a simple speedtest with different apps and websites. The Norm for my contract would be 16 to 20 Mbps, i think.
the phone can hold the connection for about 3 sec. after that the downloadrate dropps down to 0,1 Mbps and then the connection is lost. And for upload there isnt even a connection to measure something .

So dear dev Team or whatever geniuse is currently managing the support for this phone get your thing together and fix this.

Until then i will do everything in my might to stop people to buy this phone.

PS: i still think the onplus 5t was the best phone ever but yeah...

How did you actually do this?

Nevertheless I actually have the same problem that's been discussed here in lengths! Tried A1, BOB, Magenta, HoT and now EDUCOM... obviously the phone's broken (software!?) and it's fascinating nobody is going to fix this. There are numerous threads pointing out the same hard-/software bug...

    just to name a few.

Dear OnePlus could you PLEASE fix this! Right now my €600,- phone is nothing more than dead weight, and I can't even sell it used in good conscience, because chances are high it's not working for the buyer too.

I would assume after reading all colegues. Notes. You have a connectivity problem. Your modem Is weak not getting signal from outside. Clear cache, reset phone. Then call provider or oneplus technical support. Your not getting proper decibel count to your phone.

    Ok, here is the thing...
I have the same problem from day one on all stable version of the OS. Tried everything:
    1. Reset network
    2. Reset the phone ( factory reset )
    3. Modified APN settings
    4. Call my provider ( from there site everything is OK )
    5. Changed 3 sim cards
    6. Tried with different providers ( I'm using A1/bob ) Telekom, Hot, Telemach
The problem is still here, so I decided to work with them and now I'm in beta OS. Every single update have the same problem and all the logs we sent to them... They still can't fix the problem. Don't know what to do. Very, very disappointed.

This has been an issue with the phone for nearly a year and NO word from Oneplus, NO updates, NO support. Only Oneplus fans saying updates "will fix the issue" when I can confirm that the NEWEST oxygen updates did nothing? It's a really basic thing a top-end smartphone should be able to do; keep itself connected to the mobile network provided, and RECONNECT AUTOMATICALLY WITHOUT NEEDING A HARDWARE RESTART EVERY FEW MINUTES. I've missed multiple important calls and emails thanks to this already. It's a waste of my time and surely should be acknowledged?

Also the replies from these so called "community helpers" are nothing but condescending and ignorant of the issue. The 8T and other models are buggy/incorrectly configered for 4G/5G connectivity and will constantly disconnect from the mobile carrier permanently until reset via a restart. This is NOT A USER FAULT. Anyone saying otherwise need to take a moment to stop blaming US for expecting a £500+ product for not fulfilling a basic advertised feature.

If you're going to be condescending to an issue Oneplus is being ignorant of, when clearly everyone is following these suggestings and not getting anything solved. Please don't reply to other threads on this site. It's not helpful to see people suggesting that the user is at fault for what is clearly a widely documented hardware/software fault at Oneplus.
