Pixel7 , via OnePlus Community App , Dec 9, 2020 : Hi guys, I'm having a situation with my SMS/TEXT. It stopped working yesterday. It does not let me send texts, it tries to send it for several minutes then errors out. When receiving texts it takes 20-30 minutes from the time they sent me the text. I put my sim in my iPhone and immediately started receiving all texts. LTE is working on my OnePlus 8t, calls work good also, but no texts. I rebooted, toggled airplane mode on and off, checked all my settings and nothing is working. I see on twitter, many are having the same issue. I have not seen OnePlus address the situation yet and this is a huge issue. Anyone having this happen? It does however let me send and receive texts from other OnePlus Devices. Also, I'm running software 11.0.4.6.KB09CB ************* UPDATE Alright guys, here's the solution. It worked for me. And thumbs up this original post so that it helps as many people as possible. Step 1ower off the device and press the volume down and power buttons simultaneously for 15-20 seconds Step 2:Select the Language as "English" Step 3:The recovery screen will appear on the display Step 4:Select "Wipe data & cache" Step 5:You will have three options stating “Reset system settings”, “Erase everything” and “Wipe cache” Step 6:Select "Wipe cache” Step 7:Select “Yes” Step 8: reboot Once it's all booted up and connected, it should work. Let me know if it does. ,
NRG1 , Dec 9, 2020 : I have the exact same issue yesterday and t-mobile said it was an issue with the towers and an upgrade they were doing. At the time I called 4 other people with different phones had the same issue.
otto2 , Dec 9, 2020 : Try to de- install "Carrier services " app- some users helped this. Also check your APN settings with the settings your provider recommends. If this won t help, send a bugreport via community app.
NRG1 , Dec 9, 2020 : Yes I believe that had an effect too. I changed the sms app to the Google one and it worked that way too. I am using a beta oneplus 9t though so the software may need an adjustment as well not sure. Hope they see this cause I'm not supposed to have this phone 😁
cpuiulet , Dec 9, 2020 : SMS not working on my oneplus 8 on the tmobile network. Tried Google messenger with no luck. Turned off VOLte and wifi. Did a clear catche and even completely reset my phone with no luck. Everyone on my TMobile plan has no issues with their Samsungs, iPhones and pixels. Had rebooting issues with the 7 pro i owned in the recent past. Not sure what's going on with OnePlus as of lately.

Pixel7 , via OnePlus Community App , Dec 9, 2020 : The same Sim works on my other devices. On my iphone I can receive all texts and send. It's the device for sure. Even on wifi, it still won't send them.

An.I.Am , Dec 9, 2020 : Hmmm the last thing I’d say is checking the apn to see if it’s the same. Than trying to contact your provider and in the end the OnePlus support Not much helpful but ye that’s the best course of action imo
Fred_Pirotte , Dec 9, 2020 : I had the same problem on my OnePlus 8 Pro and I got it fixed by uninstalling Google Carrier Services. The OnePlus SMS/MMS application is now again working like a charm!
