OnePlus 9 Pro 5G Battery Discharge Issue via OnePlus 9 Pro

  1. Harshit_Rajput , via OnePlus 9 Pro , Jan 14, 2022 :
Somehow the battery discharges too fast on oneplus 9 pro 5G. I have disabled ambient display, enabled lock screen after 30 s, disabled ram optimization, enabled optimise for most of the apps, i only use whatsapp and insta
and still even if i turn on Battery Saver yet, my phone doesn't work for 24 hrs after full charge.
i have even set refresh rate to 60hz. :( what more can i do?

I know it depends on the usage. But it should at least sustain for 24 hrs (atleast in battery saver mode). I used OnePlus 5 before this and it used to run for more 24 hrs. (best phone ever)

Am i doing something wrong or missing something ?
Is this expected in any way? Can i do something differently?

I've peaked at 11h SOT... and with my usage I can say it's not worse than my previous Oneplus (7 Pro/8 Pro).
Don't really know what happens on your device. Without knowing how you use WhatsApp and Instagram it's hard to know if that drain is realistic or caused of some issue.

well you can see the usage as 29 and 17 percent around.
with other apps using some percent like launcher, tinder, etc

so you are saying this battery behaviour is expected ? (As per your experience)

I'm not a heavy user of any of those apps. But I see plenty of users with massive WhatsApp drain. And some Instagram complaints.

I have both those apps on my main device for testing reasons. But I don't use them on daily basis.

My main device on C38. Some days mostly just being there in pocket.

My second device on C40 NA is more of a test device and most often the one that is used the most due to testing the newest 12 build.

man really not sure how your device get through for more than 24 hours without charging. i just use 3 apps moderately i would say. and i need to charge 1-2 times.

you are lucky, and/or either I got a faulty device.
or op9 pro is really lacking in battery. Because I am still a fan of OP5 (used for 4.5yrs), but this one is a disaster.

The apps you use is a highly important factor. Also whatever else that is installed and what those things can do in the background.
WhatsApp for examples have been pretty terrible for some, even if not using it much. I have it installed on my main device but I barely ever use it nor have much else there than my wife for testing reasons.

    Drain can be pretty complicated.

I tried to explain some of that in my guide. There are some interesting sources of info in there.
