Network/Connectivity OnePlus 9 Pro — WiFi Issues

    Kermee , Apr 10, 2021 :
I have three OnePlus devices in the home. OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 8 Pro and of course, the OnePlus 9 Pro. All connect to a Ubiquiti UniFi nanoHD. The 6T and 8 Pro has never had an issue. But my new 9 Pro's connection will degrade to the point where it's no longer usable until I turn off WiFi, wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on. There's no fancy settings on the nanoHD but here's the info:

Device: OnePlus 9 Pro (T-Mobile Version)
    Software: 11.2.2.2.LE5ACB
Wireless AP: Ubiquiti UniFi nano HD (Firmware: 5.43.35.12698) — Channel 48, 80 MHz

Anyone else having similar issues? Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same issue on a Ubiquiti, I can "force" the error by moving (roaming) from from to the other access point.

I've done a few reports on both WiFi and Mobile connectivity in the past. Even if 11.2.3.3 may fix it you might want to report it now too, especially if 11.2.3.3 does not fix hur specific issue.
When you finally get 11.2.3.3 and if it still does not work a new bug report may be necessary.

Report can be via the feedback tool built in the Community app.

In my cases everything has been solved by reporting it. No network issues discovered on 9 series though (yet).

I am having the same issue, in my case using TP Link Omada gear, just trying to register my new 9 pro with my companies work profile on Intune took at least 5 attempts and the only way I could get it was by walking outside to ensure I also had mobile signal, normally I leave my device in airplane mode with WiFi and WiFi calling enabled when at home due to low signal, WiFi was and is very spotty, just got the device today

Just to make sure I’m clear, on just WiFi my registration with Intune kept failing saying network error, had to use mobile network just to get a connection and get it registered which is essentially backwards

Exact same problem.. We have two oneplus 9 pro identical issues with oue Ubiquiti dream machine. We had a three different models still at home, they had no issues at all. Oneplus support recommended a factory reset.. No idea what else we could try?!?

Confirm! There is a problem with wifi roaming between the APs. The device will stick too long... even on OOS 11.2.4.4. OnePlus has to fix it.

Exactly the same problem here. Have 2 Unifi AP's On Unifi 6 LR and a Unifi 6 Lite. I have to turn off Wifi and turn it on again. But it happens randomly, it's difficult to take logs ...

Running Oxygen OS 11.2.5.5.LE15BA on OnePlus 9 Pro.
Zero issues with my OnePlus 6 a few days ago.

Having the same problem on my oneplus 9 Pro as well.

I'm on 11.2.5.5 and in the patch notes it says fixes issues with wifi but so far hasn't worked for me. My oneplus 3 and 7 Pro have no such issues so it's definitely a problem with the 9 Pro.

The problem with mine to be exact is when i left my phone beside my bed idle at night and in the morning opened YouTube app and speed was really bad and things weren't loading fully. Like thumbnails etc. Only after i turned wifi off and back on again that it went back to normal.

But after a few minutes with screen off and back on again, then same problem all over again.

I have the exact same issue:
I configured my Unifi Dream Machine with two U6-Lite access points, first they were running both 2.4 and 5 ghz bands one one SSID and I thought that was the issue, then I separated them by allocating a new SSID for the 5 Ghz band.
Nothing solved the issue, my phone still randomly and very often struggle to connect to internet, it's 100% of the time connected to a wifi network but shows the "no internet" exclamation mark.
It's very annoying as I rely on my phone notifications for work as well so I have to turn wireless off to get it work when I'm waiting for important emails/messages.

At first I thought it was my new unifi APs the issue but no one in my family has the same issues, I have plenty of devices connected to my wifi network and they just work fine.

I can't believe a device that costed me £900+ is having those annoying bugs

device: Oneplus 9 PRO 256 GB, Oxygen OS 11.2.5.5.LE15BA updated yesterday 13.06.2021

    I can confirm.

Just replaced my OP7 with OP9 and since then we (wife have the same phone) have major issues with wifi saying there's no internet, then it randomly comes back.

All other devices in the network have no issues at all, only the OP9s.

Running Unifis latest APs with WIFI 6.

I work in IT (sysadmin) and tried everything to debug, still same issue...

Where can I report bugs regarding this?

Seems like I found a temporary solution until oneplus release a patch (will it?) and it's simple: static IP

    1. set a static ip to your Oneplus device from Unifi UI
    2. Assign same ip on the oneplus Wireless network settings
    3. Disable Intelligent Select the best wifi feature
Made the change yesterday and no the roaming issue since then.
ps. I'm not sure but probably step 2 is not required as router will force assign a static IP once you enforce it from Unifi UI

Wifi is super slow when not 5 meters from the router.
I have OP6 and OP9 Pro (11.2.5.5.LE15BA), old one works just fine, (to compare 13,5mbps ping 2ms vs 1,4mbps ping 29ms sic!)

OnePlus c'mon pretty basic stuff not working and it's been few updates already....

Same issue here. Unifi wifi 6, only thing that worked for me was making a 2.4 only network and putting my one plus on that. Just seems to not like unifi and 5ghz.
