    Hello,

OnePlus 9R has only one band but oneplus Nord 2 has multiple bands which is cheaper than oneplus 9R.

    Why there is difference?
Is there any possibility in future after upgrade OnePlus 9 series also getting multiple bands?
OnePlus 9 series is costlier than Nord 2 than why we don't have multiple bands ?

OnePlus 9 series also need multiple bands in upgrade.

    Thank you

Because people complained about less bands in the 9 Series.

And probably something to do on how Mediatek licences the modem in the device.

Come to think about it, doesn't it have FM as well?

We took oneplus 9 series device one month before and now Nord 2 came with multiple bands

And we paid more than Nord 2 so we also need more bands in future updates so OnePlus team need to do work around to achieve for OnePlus 9 series

Mate, how do you think hardware can be added via updates?
OnePlus already said it's not happening.

No, you had the specs available for time of purchase.

Someone with a car from the 2000's doesn't go back to the dealership for free upgrades because the new model has them for the same or lower price.

And the article even states that the phone makers had input from Carriers and Stakeholders on what bands to support, these decisions have many inputs not just the Phone manufacturer. And now they have included additional bands in the Nord 2 and probably future phones as well.

    From the article you linked.
"Smartphone companies work closely with carriers and regulators of each country before deciding and finalizing on band support. So even if a phone only supports a handful of bands, the smartphone maker had input from carriers and stakeholders before making that choice.

As it's hardware, if you want more bands you will need to upgrade your phone.

Well no record on that.. why would carrier provide a input which even they are not confident about . And how does a single band justify a statement.. no company is going to launch a service in a single band especially a country like India where it's densely populated.. all companies are just finding loopholes to advertise as 5g
