wasnt that post was about the old Analytics rant with oneplus? regarding the OneplusAnalyticsJobService

this post is New though... found on another part in Oxygen OS is the open.oneplus.net.

so kinda different topic at the same time, same issue. I am curious what data is Oneplus actually gathering on the phone. then again the article pretty much tells you, so im not happy with it.

You can opt out of this data collection by going to Settings > Advanced > Join user experience programme. I don't know what other data is collected by default though even with this disabled.

However, you cannot opt out of the OTHER data collection scam:

    https://www.engadget.com/2017/10/11/oneplus-oxygenos-data-anonymity/

Read carefully and you will note that there are TWO data collection schemes going on in the OnePlus 5 (and likely all other OnePlus models)

    Very disapointing!

    One question:

I got the phone on 9/14. I didn't allow the User Experience, and if I remember right, I also turned off analytics. I intensely dislike Google's analytics being everywhere, so I usually deny any analytics.

Can someone tell me how much in the analytics would be collected? I did see some collection amounts posted, but can't be sure it was analytics only. 40mb seems to be in the phone's setup as a default.
Mine shows minimal change, so if someone could point me in the direction of how many and how much for each mb of info sent, I'd appreciate it. So much per screen on, other usage?

    Thanks

Turn it off for now as it may be used to identify you based on your actions as they may already have your contact details.

    The choice is yours.
