What I have debug so far that this is Software issue not hardware issue.

    See.

What I have done so far.

    1. I have left both buds outside and let them be dead.
    2. Charge using case and let the case be dead.
    3. Reset the buds and don't connect OP phone.
    4. Connect some other phone.
    5. Reset it again.
    6. Now connect to OP

Seems stupid idea like bud but works for me.
    Give a try.

    Get the fact right.
Bud is not their industry so they make lots of unknowing mistake.

So don't just buy check before buying it.

The above screenshot buds purchased after 15 days just like what happen to Chinese earphones the left one is dead and even customer support don't What to do.

There answer it will be fixed in next update.

What a stupid and waste product.

Hey Bats, I actually read your whole review! Good stuff! As for new gestures, I have been looking at Mpow TWS buds on Amazon and they have about 9 functions I think. It is really well designed and I don't see why OnePlus couldn't use the same functions. They are all tap or hold commands so no need for swiping because I think that would be less reliable. I just got a pair of the buds (in white sadly) and I was surprised they even stayed in my ears (don't feel secure). My ears are not a good shape for earbuds overall but the OP buds are nice for sure.

Do you know who I would contact to give the gesture control suggestion to? I don't remember who was the Buds project manager.

Glad to liked the review 😊
And yes, you are correct there are just tap and hold gestures, hence less of them. And the Buds are really ear specific tbh, some say it fits well, some say ot doesn't. So kinda personal preference.
Christine L. is the product manager for Buds, you can contact her though 😊

Thanks, I'll DM her my suggestion. I think it would be a really easy software update and it would make these buds worth the price. It's $110 in Canada and the Mpow buds are half that price or lower with more features and silicone tips. May not have as good sound but better value for sure. If these buds had as many functions (especially controlling volume) I think I could justify the price.

Yeah, check the controls on these. Really versatile! 30% less than OP Buds and have (limited) ANC.

Yeah, I was going to wait for prime day in a couple weeks to buy it but I won some OP buds so I'm good. Not gonna spend money if I don't need to. Never been big on headphones anyway.

The X3 doesn't have BT 5.0 or aptx. So not sure how great they are in the end.

Looking at the recent specs of the OnePlus buds Z, is it going to actually be cheaper than the OnePlus buds? It has IP55, silicone tips, lighter in weight, has airpods like design and definitely going to have better touch controls.. Will it be cheaper?
